Underbody Coating
UNDER BODY COATING
INTRODUCTION
under body coating is a process to make the biw rust free and also better surface finish for painting finish and we will see about the process and types in the comming report
PROCESS
1.ELECTROLYTE DEPOSITION
- electolyte deposition in similar to electro plating where one metal is deposited on another metal
- in electrolyte deposition same procedure but a thin sheet of metal is formed on the another making it cost effective
- this is used to mitigate corrosion and making biw protective
- in the process first the biw is completely dipped into the electrolyte bath
- then the biw is tilted and made sure all the components are encloased by the electrolyte and current is passed to deposite the material
- then the biw is then dried completly at high temperature
2.SEALING
- then the dried biw have some gaps in the structrure then these gaps are sealed using sealant
3.PAINTING
- after sealing the first paint coat called primer is given to biw
- then dried
- and the final paint coat is given to the biw
- and is finally inspected and dried
TYPES
- fluropolymer
- epoxy
- phosphate
- inorganic zinc
- nano coating
CONCLUSION
there fore from this report we understand that the underbody coating are imperative for the long life and paint finish of the biw
