AIM :- To write a report on what is underbody coacting ,its types and pros and cons

WHAT IS UNDERBODY COATING ?

Underbody coating is a thick cladding( typically made of rubber ) that is placed uniformly to the cars underside. when the automobile is fresh off the lot and spotless , it is usually sprayed or painted on.

underbody coacting is an thick resilient coating applied to the underbody or chassis of an automobile to protect against impact damage from small stones ,which would rapidly chip ordinary paint,allowing rusting to begin.

underbody coating provides long term protection from corrosion to cars underbody. it also protects parts like internal body panels,frame rails and other inner cavities that are not phsically accessible but are prone to corrosion.

PURPOSE OF UNDERBODY COATING :-

The mail aim of underbody coating is to check check rust especially in the body components like frame rails along with other exposed metal parts underbody coating can also reduce wear and tear

1) RUBBERIZED UNDERBODY COATING

This is widly considered to be the best underbody coating for your car it protects the underbody from scratches and keeps it properly

its also not difficult to apply this to the undercarriage. this can be done at the authorized service centere or by the local repair shop at a resonable price

rubbrized coacting ideal if you want to keep the road noise to a minimum and rust and corrosion away

2) wax based underbody coacting

This transitory undercoacting will, on the whole fade away after a few months on the plus side wax based under body coacting is resistant to dampness.

it is also a most cost effective alternative

3) ASPHALT BASED AUTOMOTIVE UNDERCOACTING :-

Suitable for lorries,trucks and other heavy vechicles, in comparison to rubber based coacting.this gives a hight level of protection

Asphalt based coatings, on the other hand incorporarante a small quantity of rubber for sound insulation.

the application of this coacting however takes some time

4) POLYURETHANE UNDERBODY COATING :-

This covering seals breaks and fractures in the vechicles underbody .then it provides strong corrosion resistance and also bins to the metal.

unlike an asphalt based coacting the polyurethane coating may be painted over

CONS OF UNDERBODY COATING :-

1)The biggest drawback is the coating cost is high

2) It adds weight to the vechicle

3) it must be reapplied every 3 to 5 years for the best results .
