Underbody Coating
+
Underbody coating is a sprayable coating, which protects the under surface of the vehicle from corrosion.
Underbody coating provides long term protection from corrosion to car's underbody. It also Protects parts like internal body panels, frame rails and other inner cavities that are not physically accessible but prone to corrosion .
Protecting the underbelly of the car should be our top priority. Especially during monsoon when heavy preciptitation causes the roads to become mini-rivers and our cars are the left stranded there. this makes them prone o havey corrosion in the underbody region.

It Protects the underbody substrates from:
- Hide welds repair and bodywork with spray.
- Environmental conditions.
- Impacts.
- Seals off seams.
- Protects against Corrosion.
TYPES OF UNDER BODY COATING:
Different types of underbody coatings
1. Polyurethane Underbody Coating
This coating closes up splits and fractures on the underbody of the vehicle. It offers up good protection against corrosion and also bonds with the metal. Unlike in the case of asphalt- based coating, you can paint over the polyurethane coating.
2. Rubberized underbody Coating
This is generally thoughts of as the best underbody coating for your car. it preserves the underbody well, protecting it from scratches, applying this to the undercarriage is not much of a hassle either.
3. Wax Based Under Body Coating
A Paraffin-based underbody coating will be the cheapest and quickest option avalible with which to protect the undercoating of your vehicle. However, keep in mind that it will wear off quicker than other types of undercoating and will need to be stripped and reapplied at least once every year.
4. Asphalt Based Automotive underbodycoating
Best suited for lorries, trucks and large vehicles this provides a greater degree of protection compared to rubber-based coatings. However, asphalt-based coatings contain little amounts of rubber for sound-insulation purpose. The process of applying this coating is a bit time-consuming though.
ADVANTAGES of Underbodycoating:
Fights Rust:
It plays an important role in keeping corrosion at bay. Underbody coating can come in handy especialy if you live near the sea, where there is too much humidity, and rusting is just one of those every day things. you should also seriously consider underbody coating if you reside in a place where it snows in winter.

Absorb Noise:
Belive it or not, very thick undercosting can soften the noises that reach the cabin. Since the underbodycoating is often made up of rubber it absorb some of the rackets. the occupants of the car could spare themselves of the road noises - at least up to a certain ectend.
Reinforcement:
If your car comes with stock underbody coating using another coating on top of it,is not going to hurt.It will offer additional reinforcement, protecting the underbody from water, road debris, gravel and small pebbles. there would also be a lesser chance for the factory coat to flake away.
Prolong Car's Life:
Good undercosting not only defends the underbody from corrosion but also protects the engine and transmission as well! Less rusting coupled with slower wear and tear can surely add years to the lifespan of your vehicle. There would be fewer dents, dings and scratches on the undercarriage for you to fret about.
DISADVANTAGES:
Nothing comes for free in this world. The same goes for undercoating. The undercosting or rustproofing spray is heavy in pockets. However, itis nothing when you compare it with the cost of replacing a vechicle after corrosion.
Lanoline has earned the nickname wool grease for a reason. This waxy substance is derived from a naturally occuring secretion commonly found in fluffy animals like sheep.Produced within the glands that encapsulate their wool follicles,
Aqhe only way for an underbodycoating to provide on going protecting for your vhicle is to have the service repeated frequently. Most owners can have a new layer applied each year without worring about their underbelly being compromised.

NEED OF UNDERCOATING:
To improve vehicle acoustic performance, Reducing road noise and structure- bome vibration noises, to provide a quieter ride for the both drivers and vehicle occupants.
To maintain the thermal conductivity of the body.
To hide body works which did during manufacturing, Increasing the aesthetic look ad appearance of vehicle.
It has good resistance to abrasion and is over-paintable, making it a versatilw option for many different areas on a vehicle.
