Underbody Coating
- A car body is made up of several metals such as iron, steel, aluminum, etc.
- The rusting and corrosion are made in this metal.
- The rusting is done by the reaction of water and air in other ways wear and tear made by the stone or other material on the road
- First the rusting is made by any of the above reaction then the corrosion takes place
UNDER-BODY COTING:
- The underbody of the car mostly react with wear and tear made by water, stone speed breaker and other obstracles on the road.
- We are not bother to see the damage below the car. So it will damage the car.
- Because of the careless attitude the damage will be grater.
- The one and only solution is underbody coating or treatment is the long term solution for issues related to corrosion and rust.
- In Indian road conditions a car underbody is most prone to corrosion and rust.
- Underbody coating Provides long term protection from corrosion to car’s underbody.
TYPES OF UNDER-BODY COTING:
1.Rubberized Undercoating:
- It is easy to applay
- It is best protective coating for the car’s underbody
- Rubberized undercoating is safe to use on quarter panels and wheel wells and dries with a soft rubbery finish.
2.Asphalt-Based Undercoating:
- It is a higher level of protection suitable for large trucks and heavy machinery.
- It have extra durability against rocks, chips, and moisture.
- This type of undercoating also needs more cure time than the other three, and is not paintable, making it best to use only for underbodies.
3.Polyurethane Undercoating:
- Polyurethane coating is little bit quicker and easy to apply.
- It is a liquid plastic
4.Wax or Paraffin-Based Undercoating:
- Wax or paraffin-based undercoating sprays are the cheapest and quickest options available.
- However, keep in mind that it will wear off quicker than other types of undercoating and will need to be stripped and reapplied at least once every year.
PROS:
- The obvious pros of undercoating are the protection of the vehicle.
- Undercoating is an extra layer for the vehicle.
- When a car is drive in a sandy area it can be corrosion to the vehicle only under coating gives an extra layer to protect aganist rust and corrosion.
- Like wise it is same in warmer climate.
- So under coating is the protection for the vehicle.
CONS:
- Underbody coating is only best in new vehicles.
- A used vehicles may already have micro rust it leads to corrosion.
- so underbody coating will not help from rust and corrosion
