To Model a RC residential structure using TSD

  • Aim : To set up a model for RC buillding design
  • PROCEDURE:
  1. Open Tekla Structural design
  2. GO to settings---> Structural defaults
  3. Select the SSL for the cover in contact with the ground
  4. Eneter the cover values as given in the above table

  • For the cover above the ground change default type to TOF and apply the cover to the slabs

  • RESULT : The cover has been provided to the concrete material
  • AIM : Model grids as per 2.2.2 and 2.2 model grids as per the attachement 2.2.1and 2.2
  • PROCEDURE :
  • Gridlines are used to locate the columns and beam position in a structure.Gridlines are important as they help in placing the elements with accuracy
  • GO to model tab ---->Inder the grids and construction lines
  • graw grid lines according to the placement of the column
  • CLick on grids ---> Fraw the grids line and then selecet paralled quick oin grids panel
  • Enter the distance of the grids as per the placing of the column
  • Then use the perpendicular grid and select the line to which you want the perpendicular grids

  • AIM : To study the layout write a summary for generla arrangement of the structure
  • PROCEDURE: Before starting the design of any structure ,we need to study the layout and decide whether the layout is possible according to the structure behaviour. We also need to check the column placement is done at the place where it does not interfare with the passage or windows/doors
  1. Below shown is the column arrangement according to the plan
  2. As you notice one column line is not at the grid line 2
  3. We need to adjust the arrangement according to the entrance

  • AIM : Model RC column, beams and slabs as per your general arrangement
  • PROCEDURE:
  1. Go to model panel
  2. COnstruction level --->enter the details of the levels you want
  3. We have G+1 floor level in this plan

  • Then click ok
  • Now construction level is given
  • Go to the base level
  • Go to home --->manage property sets --->NEw
  • COncrete column --->Select the material (M30,Fe415 )

  • NOw provide column at intersection of the grids
  • Go to model ta--->Select column C1 --->Select the top level ground FLoor

  • Select 3D toggle to view in 3D

  • Now We will add bbeam
  • GO to attachement --->Place the beams as per requirement
  • Home --->Manage property sets --->NEw --->COncrete beam
  • PRovide section 400X600 cover =30

  • Now place the beam over the column
  • OPen the ground FLoor level
  • FO to model -->Comcrete beam --->Select B1 and apply

  • Go to 3D toggle

  • Now we provide column upto the top diffrent cover

  • After provoding the column and beams to the structure
  • 3D toggle view
  • Now we design the slabs for the structure
  • Go to home panel--> Manage property sets
  • New slab on beams items
  • GO to ground floor--->Sekeect slab on beams select the area where you want to place the beams
  • Leave the area of slabs fot the stairs
  • We use the slab of lessetr thickness on the roof bbecause live load will be less

  • Go to model panel --->Click on validate --->NO error shown
  • GO to structure 3D to view the model in 3D
  • RESULT
  • Concrete column are placed
  • Concrete beams are placeds
  • slabb on beams are placed
  • Model is validated and checked for error
