Structural Modelling using Etabs 2018
Structural Modelling using Etabs 2018
Aim : To model and analyze the G+7 storey building using ETABS with application of proper load cases and load combinations for given typical floor plan drawing
Objectives :
- To model an apartment with all seismic considerations, based on given architectural inputs
- To know how to check the seismic performance of an apartment using ETABS
Procedure
Step 1: Set the grid and storey details by providing 4 grids at X and 6 grid at Y and click ok

Step 2: Plan of the G+7 building has to be obtained from the grids which we provided

Step 3: Go to define tab and select the materials and choose the material type as M30 and click ok

Step 4: Go to define tab and select the materials as rebar and choose the grade as HYSD grade 500 and click
ok

Step 5: Go to define tab and choose beam properties and select frame section and provide beam dimension as 250X250 ,then modify rebar details and click ok

Step 6 : : Go to define tab and choose column properties and select frame section and provide column dimension as 400 X 400 and click ok

Step 7: Go to define tab and choose slab property and provide thickness of the frame as 125mm and click ok

Step 8: Set the thickness of the wall as 250mm and click ok

Step 9: By using quick draw column /beam option place the components and select the storey selection as all storey and then change the column orientation and size as per the autocad file

Step 10: Similarly add column and wall in required places

Step 11 :Load patterns

Step 12: Apply the brick wall load in all beam component

Step 13: Apply live load as 2kn/sqm and the reduction factor has been taken from clause 3.2.1 in IS 875 part 2

Step 14: Apply live loads in slabs

Step 15: As per table 10 the mass source of live load upto 3kn/sqm is 25 ,so we can add mass source of live load as 0.25

Step 16: Response spectrum as per IS 1893-2016

Step 17: load cases

Step 18: Select the load design as concrete frame and shear design and then select the load combination Dcons39

Step 19: Base reaction

Step 20 : Maximum story drifts

Conclusion :Analysis has been done successfully
