Sketch a G+1 residential plan according to Vaastu Shastra and Calculation of Loads as per IS code
Aim: - A G+1 floor residential plan, according to Vaastu Shastra.
Introduction: -
- Vaastu shastra is the ancient Indian science of architecture and act as a guideline to design your home in the way that enhance positive energy.
- AutoCAD is used to design the G + 1 structure for the project.
Procedure: -
- by using the AutoCAD to design the G+1 floor plan
-
by following the Vaastu shastra requirement to design the G+1 floor plan
- Kichen: - south-east is best / north-east to be avoided
- Staircase: - south-west is the best / north-east to be avoided
- Toilet: - north-west is the best / north-east to be avoided
- Master bedroom: - south-west is the best
- Guest room: - north-west is the best
- Living room: -north-west is the best
- Overhead tanks: -west is the best
- Underground tanks: -north-east is the best / south-west to be avoided
Result: - Completed design of G+1 floor plan in AutoCAD layout.
Report: - Plotted design is completed
As per IS code 875 (Part-1)/(Part-2): 1987 for column, beam and slab loads
All columns are 300mm x 300mm
All beams are 300mm x 450mm
Slab thickness of 125mm
The height of the wall is 4.5m
a. dead load of column is,
total volume of concrete = 0.3*0.3*4.5 = 0.405m^3
unit weight of concrete = 25kN/m^3
dead load of column = 25*0.405 = 10.125kN
height of the wall = 4.5m
thickness of the wall 125mm = 0.125m
unit weight of brick wall = 20KN/m^3
dead load of wall = 0.125*4.5*20 =11.25KN/m
dead load of beam is,
total volume of concrete = 0.3*0.45 = 0.135m^2
unit weight of concrete = 25kN/m^3
dead load of column = 25*0.135 = 3.375kN/m
dead load of slab is,
Slab thickness of 125mm
unit weight of concrete = 25kn/m^3
dead load of slab = 25*0.125 = 3.125kn/m^2
b. live load of the building,
1. dwelling house
| Classification | Uniformly distributed load | Concentrated load |
| All rooms and kitchens | 2.0 | 1.8 |
| toilet and bathroom | 2.0 | - |
| corridor, passages, Staires includes the escapes | 3.0 | 4.5 |
| Balconies | 3.0 | 1.5 per meter concentrated at the outer edge |
c. wind load of the building
The wind load is not required to calculate because the building height is less than 10m which is 4.5m height of the wall.
