Sketch a G+1 residential plan according to Vaastu Shastra and Calculation of Loads as per IS code
The list of the drawings required for doing a project are:
- Centre Line Drawing
- Footing and Column layout with the reinforcement details
- Column schedule with reinforcement details
- Plinth beam layout with the reinforcement details
- First floor beam layout with reinforcement details
- First floor slab layout with reinforcement details
- Lift pit and headroom reinforcement details
Centre Line Drawing:It is the first drawing to be submitted to the site.Where basing upon this the next procedure is carried out.Basing upon this plan,the excavation is carried on.It comprises the centre lines connecting the columns and footings where this act as the grid lines.
Footing and Column Layout Drawing:It is the drawing where it contains the layout the of the columns along with the footing details too.It even comprises the reinforcement details.It used after the excavation work goes on,where during the construction of the footings and the columns.Where the reinforcement is laid as per the plan.It is similar to the previous plan where only the reinforcement details are provided extra and even the plan is in detailed too.
Column Schedule:It is the plan where it doesn't provide the location of column but it gives the details of the columns.Where it even provides the details of the column reinforcement.It provides the no. of bars used for one column along with the stirrups used.It mentions the diameters of all the bars used.It even provides the total dimensions of the column with the cover.
Plinth Beam Drawing:It the drawing which gives the details of the plinth where it the gives the entire dimensions of the plinth beam and gives the layout of the beam.It even contains the reinforcement details such as diameter of the bars used,no. of bars used,stirrup details such as the spacing provided,diameter of the stirrups.
First Floor Beam Layout:It the drawing which contains the beam details.This plan could be the same for every floor if every floor has the same plan,but if the plan of floors change then,the beam details too change.In this drawing,the layout of the beams is provided i.e.,on which column which beam rest.It contains the dimensions of the beams,along with the reinforcement details too,such as the diameter of the bars used,stirrup diameter,stirrup spacing.
First Floor Slab Plan:It is the typucal plan where it contains the slab details.Here,for the easy understanding,the plan is divided into parts while reading it.It only contains the slab reinforcement details where just only 1/2 rod(s) details are provided such as the diameter,spacing,projection of alternate bars into the next segment,etc.Here,just the beam layout is provided where this plan is to be coincided with the beam layout to know which beam it is.Here,only details of the 1/2 rod(s) are provided at different segments,as they do repeat the same.If the entire slab has the same reinforcement details,then the plan will be very simple.
Lift Pit and Head Room Details:It just comprises the details of the lif pit such as the depth,wall thickness,etc.It even comprises the headroom details where it includes the reinforcement provide,hooks placed for the lift,etc.
Along with these,we even use certain plans such as electrical line plans,plumbing plans for big structures.
Now,from the assumed plan of the ground foor and the first floor,we have these details,
We assume that both the floors are having the same plan,
So,the Column and Beam Details are provided in one plan.
The Room Dimensions are provided in other plan.
The room dimensions be,
BED ROOM 1=4*2.5 m
BED ROOM 2=4*3.5 m
BED ROOM 3=4*2.5 m
LIVING ROOM=6.5*4 m
KITCHEN ROOM= 4*3 m
PUJA ROOM=2*1 m
BATH ROOM=2.5*1 m
Here,the Bath Rooms are included in the Bed Room and Puja Room in present in the Living Room.
No. of Columns=12
No. of Beams=8
And,the assumed dimensions be,
Column Size=300*300 mm
Beam Size=300*230 mm
Slab Thickness=150 mm
Wall Thickness=230 mm
Height of each floor=3.2 m
DEAD LOAD
Unit Weight of the RCC=25 KN/(m^2)
Now,we can see the dead load of the columns
DEAD LOAD of each COLUMN=(0.3*0.3*3.2)*25=7.2 KN
So,we have 12 columns in total for each floor,then,
DEAD LOAD of COLUMNS for each floor=7.2*12=86.4 KN
DEAD LOAD of COLUMNS for 2 floors=2*86.4=172.8 KN
Now,comming to Beams,
As beams have different dimensions i.e.,though they have the same cross sectional area,but they may differ in the length,so their dead weight too changes from beam to beam.Then,
Lengths of the different beams be,
B1=8 m
B2=9 m
B3=9 m
B4=9 m
B5=8 m
B6=4 m
B7=4 m
B8=5 m
Then their dead weights be,
B1=(8*0.23*0.3)*25=13.8 KN
B2=(9*0.23*0.3)*25=15.525 KN
B3=(9*0.23*0.3)*25=15.525 KN
B4=(9*0.23*0.3)*25=15.525 KN
B5=(8*0.23*0.3)*25=13.8 KN
B6=(4*0.23*0.3)*25=6.9 KN
B7=(4*0.23*0.3)*25=6.9 KN
B8=(5*0.23*0.3)*25=8.625 KN
DEAD LOAD of the BEAMS present in one floor=96.6 KN
DEAD LOAD of the BEAMS present in 2 floors=2*96.6=193.2 KN
Now,comming to the slab,
Dimensions of the Slab be,
Length=9 m
Breadth=8 m
DEAD LOAD of the Slab=(8*9*0.150)*25=270 KN
DEAD LOAD of the 2 SLABS=270*2=540 KN
Unit Weight of the Brick Work=20 KN/(m^2)
Length of the Brick Work including the Bath Rooms,Puja Room=61 m
DEAD LOAD of the Brick Work=(61*0.23*3.2)*20=897.92 KN
The above is the DEAD LOAD of the BRICKWORK for one floor,then,
DEAD LOAD of the BRICKWORK for 2 floors=2*897.92=1795.84 KN
Then,
TOTAL DEAD LOAD of the structure=1795.84+540+193.2+172.8=2701.84 KN
LIVE LOAD
In the Conventional Method of the Construction,actually the loads are not considered,just the construction goes on,where we even don't consider the LIVE LOAD acting on the Building.
For House Construction,there's no consideration for the LIVE LOAD generally.
The basic value of the LIVE LOAD acting on a building in HOUSING as per IS 875:1987 PART 2 is 2 KN/(m^2)
Here,IS 875:1987 PART 2 is used for the LIVE LOADS.
Area of the Flooring=72 m^2
Then,LIVE LOAD for one floor=72*2=144 KN/(m^2)
WIND LOAD
Our assumed Building is of 2 floors,so obiviously less than 10 m height,then,
as per IS 875:1987 PART 3,there is no purpose of calculation of the WIND LOAD,as WIND LOAD in not considered for the buildings of height less than 10 m.
Here,IS 875:1987 PART 3 is used for WIND LOADS acting on a building.
So,wind load is neglected!
The above calculations in the dead load are done just basically,where the deductions for the doors,windows,ventilators,beams and columns,etc., are not done.
