Roof Design
AIM:
Design of the front roof rail, rear roof rail, and bow roof for the roof of the vehicles with the help of the given skin data of the roof according to snow load condition and hear distortion criteria.
OBJECTIVE:
- Study different types of Roof Available in the Market.
- Study About the heat Distortion Criteria To Adjust the Position of the bow & Centre Roof.
INTRODUCTION:
A Car Roof is the portion of an automobile that sits above the passenger compartment, protecting the vehicle Occupants from Sun, Wind, Rain, and other External Elements.

TYPES OF CAR ROOFS:
- Sunroofs
- T-tops
- Vinyl tops
- Hardtops
DESIGN CONSIDERATION OF ROOF:
- Visibility Criteria
- Headroom clearance
- Bow Roof Position
- Heat Distortion & Snow Load Criteria
- Draft Analysis
ROOF CRASH TEST:
Roof Test Finally, The strength test will use a Hydraulic Press, which affects the ceiling with a force equivalent to a collision or rollover. To Receive the Highest rating, the roof needs to withstand a load equal to at least four times the vehicle's weight when idling.

DESIGN SPECIFICATION FOR THE AUTOMATION ROOF COMPONENT:
Master Section data for front roof rail, rear roof, Bow roof rea, center roof, and reinforcement. (master section only for reference purposes).
WHAT IS A ROOF:
CAR ROOF COMPONENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
- Front Roof rail
- Rear Roof
- Bow Roof
- Centre Roof rail
- Ditch Area
Front Roof Rail:
The front roof rail is the one that joins the windshield glass, the body side outer, and the inner panel also. Here the front roof rail is designed based on the master section given Front Roof Rail Master section

CENTER ROOF:

BOW ROOF:
- Bow roofs are provided in between the Front roof rail and Center Roof Rail as well the Rear roof Rail and Center roof rail.
- They are provided to enhance the localized strength of the roof and are Attached directly to the bottom of the roof with either Spot welding or with the help of mastics.
