REVIT_Dynamo Project- 3
1) Using Dynamo create a set of sinusoidal points and create a curve and create a surface out of the curve.
AIM: To create a set of sinusoidal points and to create a curve and to create a surface out of curves
TOOLS USED:
- OPEN
- DYNAMO
- MANAGE
- CODE BLOCK
- RANGE
PROCEDURE:
- open an architectural template file
- go to manage tab
- click on dynamo
- a window will open for dynamo

- go to library
- search for code block and select then to rename it to start, end and setup value

- search for range and connect the start to start, ene to end and step value to step value

- search points by coordinates in library and select it
- connect the seq to x

- search formula math sin for sinusoidal in which angle is appreared
- connect range seq to angle

- search for product and insert and connect sin to x

- insert code block and rename to amplifier and connect it to the y of product

- insert add and connect the var of product to x of add
- serach for slider and insert integer slider and reaname it to phase
- connect the phase to y of add

- search for points by coordinate and connect seq of ranage to x and var of add to y

- search for nurbscurve by points and connect point by coordinate to points of nurbcurve of point
- select range, points by coordinates, math.sin, add, product, points and click on edit and create a custom node and name it as sin based on points and add a category as analyse

- copy all the blocks and plaste it four times and adjust the phase for the line

- search for list and prepare a list and select the 4 numbers and join all the sin based on points to it

- search for surface by loft and connect the list to cross section

RESULT: a set of sinusoidal points,a curve and a surface out of the curve are created using dynamo

2) Create a conceptual layout of floor plan in dynamo . Using the tools available in dynamo link the lines to appropriate model elements in Revit by choosing the wall types and wall parameters. Make use of the sliders to slide through the height of the wall and length of the wall.
AIM: To create a conceptual layout of floor plan in dynamo using tools available
TOOLS USED:
- Manage
- Dynamo
PROCEDURE:
- open a new file
- go to manage tab
- click on dynamao

- a window will popup select new
- create new integer slider for x and y

- create four points by coordinates

- connect the points to line by start and end option
- create levels, heigths of wall and wall type parameters

- connect heigth of wall, wall types, levels and list to curve and height
- now we can go to revit file and see the wall in 3D view

RESULT: a coceptual layout has been created succesfully with required parameters
3) Create an array of model elements in Revit. Use dynamo to vary the properties of model elements by using the slider or code block
AIM: To create an array of model elements in revit and using dynamo to vary the properties of model elements by using the slider or code block
TOOLS USED:
- DYNAMO
- ROTATE
- COLUMN
PROCEDURE:
- open an architectural template
- place the 4 columns both horizontal and vertical direction

- go to manage tab and click on dynamo
- search select model elements and insert into the dynamo screen
- in select option select the elements which were created
- create a code block block and note the degree as 45
- create a family instance and connect it with degree and model elements

- switch the revit app and column will rotate exactly 45 degrees

RESULT: An array of model elements in revit is created and properties has varied by using slider or code block
4) Create a conceptual mass in Revit and develop a parametric column by dividing the surfaces and apply the concepts similar to used in parametric walkway modelling. Use triangular bent or square shaped panels to add finish to the parametric column
AIM: to create a conceptual mass in Revit and develop a parametric column by dividing the surfaces and apply the concepts similar to used in parametric walkway modelling and using triangular bent or square shaped panels to add finish to the parametric column
TOOLS USED:
- FAMILY
- LEVEL
- WORKPLANE
- SPLINE THROUGH POINTS
- CREATE FORM
- DIVIDE SURFACE
- TRIANGULAR BENT
- POLYGON
PROCEDURE:
- open a new family conceptual mass and select metric mass

- set the level with an offset of 60' in the elevation view
- rename it considering rood height

- click on floor plan view and set the work plane

- draw a curve using spline through points element from tool bar in elevation view and open in 3D view
- select the control point and set the reference and select showDr
- select the polygon and draw it at everypoint

- select all the control points and click on form option
- then curve turns into surface

- now click on divide surfec tool
- select the pattern as triangle bent increase the number in the grids for smooth surface

- click on the new and select family and select curtain panel pattern based wall
- select the triangle bent pattern
RESULT: A conceptual mass is created is revit and a parametric coulumn is developed by dividing the surfaces and a triangle bent pattern is used to add finish to the parametric column

5) Use Dynamo to work on developing a Parametric Stadium. List your parameters and use the visual programming approach to complete the modelling, You can use the concepts discussed in parametric high rise tower in class for reference.
AIM: To work on developing a parametric stadium using dynamo
TOOLS USED:
- MANAGE
- DYNAMO
- RECTANGLE
- ROTATE
PROCEDURE:
- open a dynamo tools by clicking manage tab in revit application
- create interger slides and rename it as levels ,heights, to and bottom floor rotation

- create a code block and edit as levels and floor heights
- connect the code block with levels and heights which we created

- create a rectangle slide
- connect it with coordinate by origin
- edit the width and length of rectangle

- insert rotate slide and set the degree of rotation
- connect the rotation slide with the surface loft
- switch the model into the 3 rd preview tool

RESULT: Thus the conceptual mass of visual programming of the model has been created successfully.
