Challenge

Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

Ans 1)

Battery, Ammeter, starter, genrator, fuse, fuel guage, ignition switch, ignition coil, breaker, distributor, junction block, head and tail lamps, stop lamp, horn, current and voltage regulator, gas tank unit, foot selection switch.

Ans 2)

Battery :-

It stores electrical energy, its purpose is to supply current and voltage into the entire electrical circuit. Working of a battery it is main parts are anode, cathode and electrolyte the chemical reaction happens inside the battery which cause current to follow in the circuit when a load is connected to the battery.

Starter:-

It is a eletric motor which is used to start or crank up the IC engine of a car. It converts the electrical energy into mechanical energy.

genrator:-

It is also similar to an electric motor which is used to genrate the electric power from an IC engine. It converts mechanical energy into electrical energy to charge the battary and to run other electrical devices in the car.

Ans 3)

If the total load is 10A then the fuse rating should be above the total connected load which maybe approx 15A.

Ans 4)

let take a 12V battery,

I = 500w/12v = 41.7A

Capacity of the battery = 41.7*1

= 41.7Ah

so, 12v 41.7Ah battery is required to operate the 500w load for 1 hour.

Ans 5)

Head and tail lamps,

Horn

Connected in parallel because the voltage across all the equipments must be equal and if in case one device stops working so it can not effect the other devices connect in the circuit.

Ans 6)

Ammeter

Fuel guage

Connected in series because the current should pass through them in order to measure the current and hence displaying it over the display.
