Project 2_Design & Analysis of a Hostel building at Guwahati, Assam

Aim:

To analys the given hostel building using etabs and safe software

procedure:

STEP1: USING ETABS

1) open File and select new model and select the metric system and code details and Click Ok

2)open and Edit the grid data as provided in the plan.and story data

3)Go to Define tab and Define the material property add a new property as M25 for Concrete

4)similarly Go to Define tab,Define the material property add a new property as Fe415 of steel rebar for Shear reinforcement

5)Define the material property add a new property as Fe500 of steel rebar for longitudinal reinforcement

6)Define the Section property add a new property as column 450 x 650

7)similarly Create a new property column 650x450.\

8) Define the Slab section property add a new property Slab 150 Provide the thickness as 150mm

9) Define the frame property add a new property beam size of 450x450

10)now draw beems and coloums using quick draw tool.and slab

11)now add the load cases as per is codes by adding earthquake loads in X&Y directions.

12)assign the mass source for drawing and apply the loads.

13)check the model and run the analysis.

STEP2:USING SAFE

1)export the file in etabs into safe.

2)now open safe imort the file and assign load check.

3)define material properties and slab properties.

4)define soil subgrade properties. and draw point springs for piles

5)draw the piles and assign loads

6)draw the coloums and run the model for analysis.
