Project 2_Design & Analysis of a Hostel building at Guwahati, Assam

Project 2_Design & Analysis of a Hostel building at Guwahati, Assam

Aim : To provide the analysis in ETABS and Safe for the given building

Procedure:

Step 1: Go to file and select new model and choose the metric system and code details

Step 2: Edit the grid data  and story data as provided

Step 3:Go to define tab and define the material property and create M25 property for concrete

Step 4: Go to define tab and define the material property and create a new property as Fe415 of steel rebar for shear reinforcement

Step 5: Go to the define tab and define the material property and create a new property as Fe500 of steel rebar for longitudinal reinforcement

Step 6: Go to the define tab and define the material property and create a new property as column 450 X 650  and column 650X450

Step 7 : Go to define tab and select slab property and create Slab 150 with thickness 150mm

Step 8: Go to the define tab and define the frame property and create a new property of beam size 450X450

Step 9: Draw the column and beam using quick draw tool and apply slabs in the model

Step 10: Load cases

1)As per IS 875 part 2 ,live load of hostel building room is 2kN

2)Brickwall load as 3.5kn and finishing load as 1.2kN

Step 11: Add new load as brick wall EQX with positive and negative eccentricity as per IS 1893:2016

2)Similarly add EQY with positive and negative eccentricity

Step 12: As per IS 1893:2002 zone factor for Guwahati, assam is 0.36 and it is 5th zone

Step 13: Modify the zone factors as per IS code

Step 14: Assign the mass source data

Step 15 : Apply the brickwall loading into the model

Step 16: Apply the loadings into the model

Live load

Step 17: Run the analysis and take the Ast values for both beam and reinforcement

Step 18: Export the safe file from etabs model

Step 19:

Soil type =3

length of Piles =10m

Pile dia =500mm

Load carrying capacity = 280kN

Run the analysis

1)Some of the punching shear values are greater than 1

2)Need to increase the slab size

Step 20: Showing the reinforcement details for one pile cap
