AIM :

Model of a membrane roof with cables. The modeling, form-finding and create the cutting patterns to the structure.

PROCEDURE:

open RFEM and looking at the given figure plot nodes on the grid system.

once all the nodes have been plotted join them with lines.

now generate the new membrane by selecting these closed lines.

a new membrane is obtained, assign cables to the supporting members.

assign hinge support at the base of each node.

once all this is done, generate the FE mesh for the membrane.

now click on calculation all and check the results such as deformation, deflection.

add the load cases such as dead ,live and wind.

now assign a dead load of 1kn to the membrane using surface load.

check the results after applying load for different parameters.

go to tools and select generate cutting patterns from cells.

click on the node assign the value of compensation and allowance.

click on calculate we get the cutting pattern statistics, export it to excel.
