System Level Simulation of ATV (based on BAJA ATV Model)
Objective:
To carry out a system-level simulation of an all-terrain vehicle using 'BAJA All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Model' and to create detailed report with model properties and results explained.
About "BAJA All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Model":
This model is used for understanding the longitudinal vehicle dynamics of an ATV with a CVT used in BAJA compitition using Simulink and Simscape blocks.
1. CVT Model:

Blocks used:
1. Generic Engine :

The Generic Engine block represents a system-level model of spark-ignition and diesel engines suitable for use at initial stages of modeling when only the basic parameters are available.
2. CVT block:

The CVT block is modelled using inertia blocks and a veriable ratia gear. The ideal rotational motion sensors record the speed of primary and secondary shaft of CVT.
3. Vehical Body:

This block calculates for the vehicla mass and the longitudinal dynamics. Here, the
Input Builder:

Outputs and Results:
Engine Torque w.r.t. speed:

Scope output:

RPM at primary and secondary shafts of the CVT:

2. CVT Model with Dashboard:

In this case a dashboard is used to manipulate the input os throttle and breaks while running the simulations. the dashboard also displays engine RPM and Velocity.
Outputs and Results:
Output from the scope:

RPM of primary and secondary shaft of CVT:

3. CVT Model with lookup block:

In this case a "1-D Lookup Table block is used this block reads data from a file and feeds it in the simulink programme.
The 1-D, 2-D, and n-D Lookup Table blocks evaluate a sampled representation of a function in N variables
y=F(x1,x2,x3,...,xN)
Results:
Output from the scope:

RPM at CVT:

4. CVT Model with Dashboard and Lookup Table:

Lookup Table Visualization:

CVT Ratio:

Output from scope: Velocity w.r.t. Throttle and speed input:

CVT rpm at primary and secondary shaft:

Comments and Conclusions:
As can it can be seen frok the scope output the velocity varies according to the Throttle and brakes input. Also the variation in the primkary and secondary shafts of the CVT are recorded w.r.t. the variation in the throttle input.
