Project 1 (Mini Project on Vehicle Direction Detection

The required model is developed as per requirement by following the below steps,

i) First, an SLDD file is created to store the signal and calibration data. A snapshot of the resulting file is shown below.

Note that, for the signal 'Vehicle_Detection_Indicator', the dimension is set to default rather than 1 as mentioned in the question as, we will use a 3 dimensional signal to identify the direction i.e. each signal using '1' or '0' to indicate a specific direction (either one of left, right or straight)

ii) Next, Requirement1 is implemented with simulink blocks as shown below-

At the first switch block, the vehicle is identified to be moving 'straight' if the input signal is zero or 'left' other-wise.

Another arbitration is done at the second switch where it is checked if the input signal is greater than one. If so, the vehicle is identified to be going 'right' otherwise, the previously identified direction is retained.

The identified vehicle direction is output through the 'Vehicle_Turn_Status' signal.

iii) Requirement2 is identified as shown below-

It is checked to see what vehicle direction is indicated on the 'Vehicle_Turn_Status' using conditional blocks to compare with stored values for road signs.

Further, if the input from the camera is also good, the vehicle direction is output through the 'indicator' signal.

iv) Subsystems are created of Requirement1 and 2 and are connected to each other as shown below.

v) The sub-systems are linked to the respective requirement as specified in the word files.

Further steps are carried out to evaluate the model using model advisor and c-code is generated. Previews of the result are shown below.

The actual files associated with the above results are zipped and attached with this assignment. The simulink model and the SLDD file are also separately attached.
