Single-cell estimation:
Voltage = 3.35V
Capacity = 2.5Ah
Energy capacity = 3.3*2.5 =8.25 watt hour
Let's assume the motor with the voltage of 300V
Single module design:
The design of a single module with 30 cell series with 8 cells parallel. So this arrangement provides the 100 voltage with the total amp-hour of 20Ah.
Module design:
Design of 3s 3p module for the battery pack 18,000wh
- The number of series modules is 3, so each module with the 100 v forms the 300v, That is the required voltage for the motor operation.
- The number of parallel modules is 3, to calculate the Ah related to the 300v motor.
- Divide total capacity by voltage the total Ah can be obtained. Then dividing total Ah by the number of modules gives Ah of a single module.
- 18KV/300V =60Ah/3 =20Ah.

RESULT:
To cross-check the design for 18kwh let’s do a total capacity calculation:
(No.of module)*(no.of series cell in module *volt)*(no.of parallel cells in module*Ah)
(3*3) * (30*3.35) * (8*2.5) =18,090wh
So the battery pack designed for the 18,090wh exactly satisfies the design requirement of 18Kwh. The additional 90wh can be used for the other electrical accessories in the car.
