Objective :Route the Wiring harness on Given Engine and Prepare flattened view drawing in CATIA V5. Application of all Packaging rules, Industry best practices studied in this course shall be demonstrated in design. Apply Protection coverings as required.

Prepare & Submit all necessary reports like clearance, Clipping/Clamping selection, Harness fixing requirements, Harness continuity, and Assumptions if any along with CATIA 3D data.

Answer :

Imported the Engine assembly . Imported and placed all connectors and fur clips at required location .

Placed the channel for injectors at desired location on left and right banks of engine .

Created a L bracket for the support of connector .

Placed P clamps and Fur tree clips at desired location

Switched to Harness installation workbench and routed to all the connectors .

Assumptions and notes

Applied COT tubes at areas near hot spots or sharp edges

Channel has been provided to protect against heat near exhaust manifold

Cot tubes have been provided near all sharp edges and also at p clamps to protect the harness .

Approximately 50mm clearance have been provided between all branching points .

Minimum distance between turbo charger and routing > 200mm

Bundle segment continuity was checked and was found flase for only 2 segments at the end of channel on both sides .

Flattening workbench was used to create a flattened view of the harness .

2D drawing was created from the flattened harness
