Q1. Use the shortcut keys in Revit discussed in class to complete the following tasks and list them below
           a. Using 3D model create a section box
           b. To create similar doors and windows in a floor plan layout
           c. To reduce the thickness of lines visible in plan views
           d. To apply override settings to a floor in the model section view
           e. To increase the range of visibility in a plan view
           f. To select the previously selected items
           g. To add annotations to the model views
           h. To bring the model elements in line
           i. To rotate the model elements
           j. To move an object to another location
           k. To copy a model element
           l. To mirror an element about an axis
          m. To create an array of model elements

Ans.

  1. Using 3D model create a section box = BX
  2. To create similar doorsand windows in a floor plan layout = CS
  3. To reduce the thickness of lines visible in plan views = TL
  4. To apply override settingsto a floor in the model section view = EOD
  5. To increase the range of visibility in a plan view = VR
  6. To select the previously selected items = CTRL + <- ( CONTROL PLUS LEFT AR ROW)
  7. To add annotations to the model views = DI
  8. To bring the model elements in line = AL
  9. To rotate the model elements= RO
  10. To move an object to another location = MV
  11. To copy a model element = CO
  12. To mirror an element about an axis = MM
  13. To create an array of model elements = AR

Q2. Using Revit and the project used from week 6 to 8 prepare a schedule for the following
          a. Walls

Ans.

AIM - To prepare the project used from week 6 to 8 prepare a schedule for the following
          a. Walls
          b. Doors
          c. Windows
          d. Material – Concrete/Wood

Procedure -

1. Open the architectural template which we have used for our week 6-8 week project.

2. Click on view tab

3. Select schedule quantities option from the view tab.

4. Select all the components like door, walls, windows, and materials concrete.

5. Next schedule tab dialog box will appear select the components which we want to display in the schedules.

Q3. Using Revit Calculate area and volume of each room in the model with appropriate room tags applied to each room. Prepare a schedule report for area and volume of each room ?

Ans.

AIM - Calculate area and volume of each room in the model with appropriate room tags applied to each room. Prepare a schedule report for area and volume of each room

Procedure -

1. Open the architectural template which we have used for week 6-8 of the project.

2. Go to the view tab.

3. Select schedules option from the view tab.

4. The schedule dialog box appears.

5. Select the parameters required like area, volume etc.

6. Then click on ok option.

7. Then we can obtain the room schedule.

Result -

Q4. Using the same schedule using the unit cost rate for materials available in the internet, prepare total cost of materials used in the project
          a. Total Cost of Materials
          b. Individual Material Take off

Ans.
