m. To create an array of model elements
Procedure:
a. Using 3D model create a section box.
- Open the revit model.
- Select the component.
- Type 'BX'
- The section box is created.

b. To create similar doors and windows in a floor plan layout.
- Select the component.
- Type 'CS'
- The similar component is created.
- place it to the required location.

c. To reduce the thickness of lines visible in plan views.
- Open any one floor plan view.
- Type 'TL'
- The thickness of lines is reduced.

d. To apply override settings to a floor in the model section view.
- Type 'VG'
- Select floor in VG dialouge box.
- Select override option.
- Set the pattern and color.

e. To increase the range of visibility in a plan view.
- Open the third floor plan.
- Type 'VR'
- View dialouge box is open.
- Set the primary range top as unlimited, Bottom as unlimited and view depth level as unlimited.
- The view range is increased.

f. To select the previously selected items.
- Select the series of components by pressing ctrl key.
- Select the component without pressing the ctrl key,
- Now by using 'CTRL+<' it will shows the previously selected components.
g. To add annotations to the model views.
- Type 'DI'
- It will helps to annotate the model.

h. To bring the model elements in line.
- Type 'AL'
- Select the component to algin the another component.
- Select the component want to align.

i. To rotate the model elements.
- Select the component want to rotate.
- Type 'RO'
- Rotate the component to the required direction.

j. To move an object to another location.
- Select the component want to move.
- Type 'MV'
- Move the component to another location.

k. To copy a model element.
- Select the element want to copy.
- Type 'CO'
- The element will get copied.

l. To mirror an element about an axis.
- Select the object want to mirror.
- Type 'MM'
- Select the axis of mirror.
- The element will get mirrored.

m. To create an array of model elements.
- Select the component to array.
- Type 'AR'
- Set the number of arry.
- Specify the distance.
- The arry of the component is created.

Result:
The shortcut keys is used and the given tasks are performed.
2) Using Revit and the project used from week 6 to 8 prepare a schedule for the following
a. Walls
b. Doors
c. Windows
d. Material – Concrete/Wood
Aim:
To create schedule for the following.
a. Walls
b. Doors
c. Windows
d. Material – Concrete/Wood
Procedure:
a. walls
- Drop down the schedule option under view tab.
- Select schedule/quantities.

- Select the category as walls.
- Click ok.

- Select the fields and order in the schedule field.
- Cklick ok.

- The wall schedule is created.

b. Doors
- Repeat the same procedure of wall schedule.
- Select the category as doors.
- Select the fileds and order it in the schedule field.
- Door schedule is created.

c. windows
- Repeat the same procedure of wall schedule.
- Select the category as windows.
- Select the fileds and order it in the schedule field.
- windows schedule is created.

d. Material-concrete/wood
- Select the material takeoff option in schedule.

- Select the category as floors.
- Select the fileds and order it in the schedule field and click ok.
- Floor material takeoff schedule is created.

Result:
The schedules for walls, Doors, Windows and material takeoff schedule for floors is created.
3) Using Revit Calculate area and volume of each room in the model with appropriate room tags applied to each room. Prepare a schedule report for area and volume of each room.
Aim:
To Prepare a schedule report for area and volume of each room.
Procedure:
- Select schedule under view tab.
- Select schedule/quantities.

- Select the category as rooms.
- Click ok.

- Set the schedule properties.
- Select the fields and order it to the scheduloe fields.
- Select name, count, number, area and volume.
- Click ok.

- The room schedule report is created.

Result:
A schedule report for area and volume of each room is prepared.
4) Using the same schedule using the unit cost rate for materials available in the internet, prepare total cost of materials used in the project
a. Total Cost of Materials
b. Individual Material Take off
Aim:
Prepare total cost of materials used in the project.
a. Total Cost of Materials
b. Individual Material Take off
Procedure:
- Select the schedule under view tab.
- Select material take off.
- Select the Category.
- Set schedule properties.
- Select the parameters and order it into the schedule list and click ok.
- Add one extra column For the total cost calculation.
- Select the column and click calculated.
- Enter the formula.
