2) Using Revit and the project used from week 6 to 8 prepare a schedule for the following
a. Walls
b. Doors
c. Windows
d. Material – Concrete/Wood

AIM: - To prepare a schedule for the given elements using Revit.

INTRODUCTION: -

  • A schedule is a tabular display of information, extracted from the properties of the elements in a project.
  • A schedule can list every instance of the type of element you are scheduling, or it can collapse multiple instances onto a single row, based on the schedule's grouping criteria.
  • You can create a schedule at any point in the design process.
  • As you make changes to the model that affect the schedule, it automatically updates to reflect those changes. You can add a schedule to a drawing sheet.
  • You can export a schedule to another software program, such as a spreadsheet program.

PROCEDURE: -

1. WALLS SCHEDULE

  • First, we have to open the Revit project and go to the view tab and select the schedules option.
  • After selecting the schedules option, the new tab will appear, as shown below.
  • Next, we need to select the wall schedule and press ok, as shown below.
  • Next the schedule properties tab will be displayed, as shown below.
  • Next, we need to select the scheduled fields in order and click ok.
  • Next the wall schedule tab will be displayed, as shown in the below figure.

2. DOORS SCHEDULE

  • First, we have to open the Revit project and go to the view tab and select the schedules option.
  • After selecting the schedules option, the new tab will appear, as shown below.
  • Next, we need to select the door schedule and press ok, as shown below.
  • Next the schedule properties tab will be displayed, as shown below.
  • Next, we need to select the scheduled fields in order and click ok.
  • Next the door schedule tab will be displayed, as shown in the below figure.

3. WINDOW SCHEDULE

  • First, we have to open the Revit project and go to the view tab and select the schedules option.
  • After selecting the schedules option, the new tab will appear, as shown below.
  • Next, we need to select the window schedule and press ok, as shown below.
  • Next the schedule properties tab will be displayed, as shown below.
  • Next, we need to select the scheduled fields in order and click ok.
  • Next the window schedule tab will be displayed, as shown in the below figure.

4. MATERIAL (CONCRETE / WOOD)

  • First, we have to open the Revit project and go to the view tab and select the Material takeoff option.
  • After selecting the Material takeoff option, the new tab will appear, as shown below.
  • Next, we need to select the DOOR material and press ok, as shown below.
  • Next the Material takeoff properties tab will be displayed, as shown below.
  • Next, we need to select the scheduled fields in order and click ok.
  • Next the Wall Material takeoff tab will be displayed, as shown in the below figure.

RESULTS: -

1. WALL SCHEDULE

2. DOORS SCHEDULE

3. WINDOW SCHEDULE

4. MATERIAL (WOOD): - DOOR MATERIAL TAKEOFF

3) Using Revit Calculate area and volume of each room in the model with appropriate room tags applied to each room. Prepare a schedule report for area and volume of each room.

AIM: - To prepare a schedule report for area and volume of each room in the model.

Step 1: -We need to open an existing file and select quantities from view

Step 2: -Select the rooms option from the window popup

Step 3: -Now add the properties like area, volume

Step 4: -Each room schedule for area and volume has been created

Result: - Hence, room area schedule is prepared.

4) Using the same schedule using the unit cost rate for materials available in the internet, prepare total cost of materials used in the project
a. Total Cost of Materials
b. Individual Material Take off

AIM:

To create a total cost of materials schedule using the unit cost rate

INTRODUCTION:

As the building design matures and construction details are accurately modeled, precise quantity takeoffs can be extracted from the BIM model to compute very detailed cost estimates that factor in the planned construction process and consider the labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs for all building elements.

If we have started our model by choosing the masses option, we can add now some model elements as floors by face, and wall by face...to get a cost estimation at this step of the project, which is a little more accurate than the previous one

PROCEDURE: -

  • First, we have to open the Revit project
  • Select the wall from the model and select edit type from properties window of the Revit.
  • Put the cost of wall as Rs. 150 per sq. feet, select apply and ok.

  • Go to view tab and select the schedule tool followed by selection of material takeoff, select the walls from new material dialog box, and select ok.
  • Now select the required properties of the wall to add in the schedule and select ok.

  • Now select the formula option from material takeoff properties dialog box and add the formula as shown below.
  • Then go to formatting and select total cost from fields and select calculate totals as shown below.

  • Therefore, wall material takeoff is created and is shown below.

  • Similarly, prepare for doors, windows, floors, and furniture material takeoff schedules

DOOR MATERIAL TAKEOFF: -

WINDOWS MATERIAL TAKEOFF: -

FLOOR MATERIAL TAKEOFF: -

FURNITURE MATERIAL TAKEOFF: -

RESULT: -

Hence, the total cost and individual material takeoff schedule has been prepared
