Preparing Schedule & Cost Estimation for a building using REVIT
PREPARING SCHEDULE AND COST ESTIMATE FOR A BUILDING USING REVIT
INTRODUCTION
- SCHEDULE: A schedule is a tabular display pof information, extracted from tghe properties of the elements in a project,A schedule can list every instance of the type of element you are scheduling ot it can collopse multiple instances onto a single row ,based on the schedule grouping criteria
- The schedule can be created at any point in the design process. If any changes are made in the model that affect the schedule .It automatically updates to reflect those changes
- Using revit software cost estimates can also developed.by providing the unit cost of materials total cost can be derived
- The other concept coming under this section is visual programming here the visual programming tool is dynamo. It is open source visual programming language for revit written by designer and construction professional. It is a programming language that allows to type lines of code, while also creating an algorithm that consisit of nodes
- Dynamo and revit together can be utilised to model and analuyze complex geomteric automate repetitive process.minimize human error ,export data to excel file and other file type not typically supporteed by revit
- AIM: To list the shortcut key for the following
- PROCEDURE:
- Using a 3D model create a section box: Section box-box
- To apply override setting to a floor in the model section view- Visualibity graphic and override setting
- To increase the ange of visualibity in a plan view-View range
- To select the previously selected items-Reselect -ctrl++
- TO add annotation to the model views -Dimension -DI
- To bring the model elements in the line-Align-al
- To rotate the model elements -Rotate
- To move an object to another location-Move -MV
- To copy a model element -Copy -co
- To mirror an element about an axis-Mirror-MM
- TO create an array of model elements -Array
- AIM: To preapare the schedule for the following
- Walls
- Doors
- Windows
- Material-Concrete/wood
- Propcedure:
- Initially open the architectural model created previously
- THen go to view tab ----.schedule--->Schedule

- Now select the required field
- a) Wall schedule

- For the wall schedule choose the parameter for scheduling and then click ok

- Wall schedule is preapared as shown below

- Hence the wall schedule is preapared
- Similarly ,Preapare the door schedule ,window schedule awnd material conmcrete/wood schedule
- b)Door schedule
- View---->schedule ---->schedule =/quantities
- Select the door

- Now select the parameter to be considered for door

- Now window schedule is preapared as given below

c)Window schedule
- View---->Schedule ---->schewdule/quantites
- Now select the category as window

- Now select the parameter top be considered fopr window

- The window schedule preapared is as given below

d)Material ---concrete /wood
- View--->schedule --->Material takeoff
- Now select the category as follows

- Now select the parameter to be coinsidered for floor material

- Material takeoff schedule is given by

- SImilarly takeoff schedule is given by

- Hence completed
- RESULT
THE Wall ,door, window, and material schedule have been prepared
4) To prepare the schedule of total cost of material
- PROCEDURE:
- 1.FOR WALLS
- Go to vieww tab--->schedule--->Material take off
- Select the category as well

- Now select the parameter for the wall

- Now we have to include the total cost parameter which is a calculated quantity
- For this go to add calculated quantity

- Wall material is taken off as given

- Similarly ,prepare for door ,windows ,floor and furniture material takeoff schedule
- Door material takeoff schedule

- Window material takeoff

- Furniture material takeoff

- RESULT
- Hence the total cost and individual material take off schedule has been prepared
- 5)

- 6) Parameter associated with each model elements are as follows

- Wall type
- Wall Description
- Wall Length
- Wall Thickness
- Wall Height
- Wall material
- Wall location
- Material cost
