Preparing Schedule & Cost Estimation for a building using REVIT
1) Aim of this project is to use the shortcut keys to complete the following task as listed in the question.
a) Using 3D model create the section box:
Procedure: Open the architectural model created before than select the any component in the model. After that type "BX" which is the shortcut key for section box.

b) To create similar doors and windows in a floor plan layout.
Procedure: Select any component in the model type "CS" another similar component will be created. We can place that component in the model.

c)To reduce the thickness of lines visible in plan views.
Procedure: To reduce the thickness of the line use the command TL. This will reduce the thickness of the line.

d)To apply override settings to a floor in the model section view.
Procedure: To change the settings to a floor in the model or override the settings just type the command "VG". Than go to the floor option and click on the patterns-overide settings and change the pattern, colours etc. and click ok.

e)To increase the range of visibility in a plan view.
Procedure: To increase the the range of visibility just type the command "VR" than a dialogue box will appear there we can change the range of visibility.

f)To select the previously selected items.
Procedure: To select the previously selected items we need to type the command ctr+left arrow key.<
g)To add annotations to the model views.
Procedure: To add annotations to the model views type the command "DI"

h)To bring the model elements in line
Procedure: To bring the model elements in line type the command "AL" which means align. Click on the element and than click on other element face we want to align. This will align with the element.
i) To rotate the model elements
Procedure: To rotate the model elements select any component in the model than type "RO" than we can rotate along the axis.
j)To move an object to another location.
Procedure: To move an object, select the object and than type " MV". Now drag and place the object in another location.
k)To copy a model element.
Procedure: To copy a model element select the component than type "CO" and drag the component and place a copied component.
l) To mirror an element about an axis.
Procedure: To mirror an element abount an axis clcik the element and than type"mm" and than click on the intersection. This will mirror the element or object.

m) To create an array of model elements.
Procedure: To create an array of model elements select the object or component in the model than type"AR" and type the numbers of elements we want to replicate. Than click and it will array the element.

2) Aim of this project is to prepare the schedule for the wall, door, window & Materials.
Procedure for door:
a) Go to the view tab and than click on the schedule and than click schedule/quantities in the ribbon menu.
b)Select the door option the dialogue box and than select the parameters of the door we want the schedule and than click ok.

Procedure for wall:
a) Go to schedule option and tha select the wall option in dialogue box that appears.
b) select the wall parameters that we want to add in in the schedules and than click ok.

Procedure for windows:
a) Repeat the steps as done for walls & doors.

Procedure for material
a) Go the schedule option under the view tab. Than select the material takeoff option.
b) A dialogue box appears there select the material like floor / doors etc.
c) Than select the parameters of the material selected and than click ok.

3)Aim of this project is to calculate area and volume of each room in the model with appropriate room tags applied to each room & prepare a schedule report for area and volume of each room.
Procedure:
a) Go to the view tab and under the view tab select the project schedule option in the ribon menu.
b) Than dialogue box appears there select the room option.
c) After selecting the room option we need to select the parameters like name, area, count, volume etc. and add them to the right column in th dilogue box.
d) After adding them click on ok than we can see the schedules of the rooms- area & volume.
e) Similarly we need to make for the level 2 First floor.

4) Aim of this project is to prepare the total cost schedule of the materials used in the project.
Procedure:
a) Go to the view tab option than under the view tab select the schedule option and than select the material take off option.
b) Now select the parameter in the dilogue box that appears after selecting the material take off.
c) Select the material takeoff one by one like for wall, door, windows, interior components, floor etc.
d) Under this parameters select the available fields that are required to calculate the total cost like count, area, volume, material cost etc.
e) Now select the component of the model like door, windows and than go to the project properties there we need to enter the cost of the component as per market rate. We need to do this for other component also like interior components, floor, wall etc.
f) Now go to the Project browser there we will se the material take off has been created individual for components like door, windows, floor etc.
g) After clicking the material take off in the project browser like for wall there we will see all the parameters has been created in the tabular form showing Wall volume, area, cost etc.
h) Now for calculating the total cost we need create a new column from the ribbon menu insert option-insert column. And rename the heading as Total cost.
i) Now in the column We nee to create the formula ( Cost of material in either (volume or area/1)*Market Rate). This will give the total cost of the material /component.
j) Similarly we need to do for all other components in model. This will give the total cost of the material & individual material take off.

5) Aim of this project is to use the concept of visual programming and list a flow chart of the scenario:
a. Decide framings for a structure using Dynamo.
b. If there is no water coming from the pipes.
c. If request for money from client has been declined for the project.
Ans: a Framing for structure using Dynamo.

Ans b If there is no water coming from the pipes.

Ans c If request for money from client has been declined for the project

6) Aim of this project is to list out the parameters for Wall, floor, door, window, table & building.
Procedure:
a) Select any component for eg: Window.
b) Than go to the property window and click on the edit type.
c) Now the dialogue box appears there we can check all the parameter listed for the window.
d) Similarly we can check the parameters for other component in the same procedure.
The parameters are listed below.

a)Wall
1)Construction Parameters
2)Graphics
3)Materials & Finishes
