Design of American Chopper
Objective :
To learn the features and tools used in designing n industries in Solidworks.
Introduction
American chopper is an american modified bike which is having a lonk tank and long fork in the front which gves it a unique look of leaning down towards front.
This american chopper is designed in solidworks which is an designing software which is used in industries to design and analyse different models without making their actual prototype, which saves a lot of time and money.
In this report the american chopper is designed in solidworks to understand and take the skills of ever tool and features of solidworks software.
Design Methadology
Description
1. Transmission Belt
Transmission belt is used to transmit the power from engine to the wheel
While designing this part we used and learn the smple sketching, extrudng, making arc after the line,etc.
2. Kick Stand
The kickstand is used to give bike a support when it is parked
While designing this part we learned abot extrude cut, making part using diffetrent planes, Spline
3. Front Fender
The front fender is on the upper part of the front wheel to stop the dust coming from front toward the rider of the bike.
In this we larned about the revolve function which makes the material round around the axes, split funstion
4. Rear Fender
This part is used to cover the rear wheel
it is similar to the front fender
5. Chain
This part is the medium of tranmission of pawer from engine to rotor of rear wheel
In this design I made a lot of errors then i learned how to sove the errors while designing
making blocks
patterning on the curve and a lot of things
6. Oil Tank
This part stores oil for the engine
it is the simple part and learned how to make a hollow part
7. Pedal
This part is representing the gears and brake on the bike
i learned about chamfer, lofted cut
8. Front Wheel
It is the front supporting part of the bike
in this i learned about how to create different parts in a single part
9. Rear Wheel
It is the rear part supporting part of the engine
It is same to make as of front wheel and learned about how to make use of spline in a better way
10 . Front Fork
It is the main part from which the rider can control the handling of the bike
In designing this part i learned about mrroring solid parts and making headlights look more real
11 . Chasis
This is the main support on which whole bike is to be lied
In making this part we learned about inserting the sketch and make sketech with the help of a picture
12. Engine
This part is the heart of the bike
It is the conplecated part in which i got revision of all the sketch tools and features i have used
i learned about projecting the curve
13. Gas Tank
This part is where the fuel is stored and also the seat of the vehicle is there
