HOOD OF THE CAR:
Hood is a opening part of a body panel that covers the engine in a front engine vehicle, the hood is also called boonet.
its considered as another type of door in a vehical as it consistof an outer panel and inner panel.
the inner panel provides strength while the outer panel function as the metal cover.
hood is an also a critical component because frontal crish and pedestrians safty requirement and dissipate the heat produced by the engine to outer rather than inside of the car body.
Parts of Hood :
Hood outer part
Hood inner part
Latch and stricker
Hinges

LATCH TRAJECTORY:
Is the path on which is followed by the hood during its opening and losing.

. Here the circle represents the trajectory
. The line drawn represents the hing axis about which will open and close.
. The tangent line created is to ensure that the latch on the strickeer is tangent to the trajectory circle.
Mastic sealants:
mastic sealant is the paste used to join two companents.
once applied and cooled it hardens, joining the component.
This part improves the local strength of the components of about 80mm diameter,we apply this seclent in such a way that the maximum area of the component is covered.
the hood assembly the mastic sealant are applied between the inner panel and the outer panel.

Hemming:
Hemming is the processs in which an extended sheet of one component is wrapped upon an inner component to restrict its degree of freedoms.
In this case the hood outer panel is wrapped around the inner panel using this hemming process.
DEEP DRAWING :
Is the process in which metal sheet in pressed against a die using a punch
the deep drawing process is when the same happens but the depth components is drawn more then its diameter.
here the diameter of the component decrease as the length of the draw increses.

EMBOSSING:
EMBOSS ARE THE INWORDS PROJECTION GIVEN ON THE INNER PANEL OR ANY COMPONENT THEIR FEATURE SECURE TWO PURPOSES:
- to minimize the distance between the outer and inner panel in order to eases the joining process.
- to divert the impact foce away from the passenger so as to ensure thier safety.
