SUPPORT PERSON: Bharath Kumar.k

AIM & OBJECTIVE:-

  • To apply different tools of surfacing in SolidWorks.
  • Make a model of the Wheel Loaderusing Solidworks.
  • Do assembly and rendering using Solidworks.

INTRODUCTION:-

SolidWorks is a mechanical 3D CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Software used to create 2D & 3D models. It helps to design products better, faster, and more cost-effectively.

Wheel Loader modeling completely depends on Solid modeling. In this modeling the most important part to set up the Blueprint. Then as per the requirement of parts in blueprint do the process to get the desired part.

VIEW (HEADS-UP):-

Following command comes under this:-

  • Zoom to Area

COMMON TOOLS USED IN WHEEL LOADER MODELING

PLANE:- Here the section view of the model is to be sketched

SKETCH:- It gives the work base to create 2D & 3D sketches.

SMART DIMENSION:- By using this easy to provide the dimension value to the sketch to get the desired shape.

FILLET:- It provides round shape at corners edges.

CHAMFER:- It provides sloping edges at corners.

EXTRUDE SURFACE:- Used to get surface from the sketch.

REVOLVE SURFACE:- Used to revolve the sketch with the reference of axis or lines in the surface form.

SWEPT SURFACE:- It proved a surface by closed profile along an open and closed path.

OFFSET SURFACE:- Used to get per surface on another plane.

EXTEND SURFACE:- Used for extension of surface.

CONVERT ENTITIES:- Using this easy to get sketched into the other plane or same plane with the same dimension value.

OFFSET:- It Adds 3D sketches on faces.

EXTRUDE BOSS/BASE:- used to get a solid body in one or two directions.

REVOLVED BOSS/BASE:- Used to revolve the sketch with the reference of axis or lines in the solid form.

EXTRUDE CUT:- Used to remove materials from the solid body.

SWEPT BOSS/BASE:- It proved a solid body by closed profile along an open and closed path.

PATTERN:- It features the object in a particular direction or path

PROJECTED CURVE:- It combines two 2D Continuous curves into a 3D curve.

TRIM:- It is used to cut the extra line of the surface.

APPEARANCE:- Using this can get a different look & apply different materials.

SHELL:- The shell tool hollows out a part.

BLUEPRINT SETUP

Following steps need to get the setup:-

Go to Tools Then Sketch Tools Then Sketch picture and browse the picture location file and click on OK. Then give properties data to get the exact setup.

Front View Side View Top View

REAR BODY:

It is the main body of the wheel loader, and it is connected with different types of solid parts. It contains engine, exhaust and so many.,

DIFFERENTIAL BODY:

The actuation of the diff lock provides high traction with both wheel outputs locked together. The open rear differential provides lower frictional losses in the axle, ultimately increasing fuel efficiency and reducing tire wear.

FRONT BODY:

The wheel loader is built without any axle suspension. The front wheels are attached directly to the front body, and the rear axle is allowed to oscillate around the longitudinal axis, thus allowing all wheels to maintain contact with the ground.

AXLE ROD:

This means torque is transferred from the driveshaft to the axle, which in turn transfers that power to the wheels so the vehicle can be propelled forward.

BOOM CYLINDER:

Boom cylinders are used for moving the boom and stick. These cylinders are the largest in our product range. They are up to 3500 mm in length when extended and weigh almost 600 kg.

BOOM ROD:

Boom Rod is connected with the boom cylinder the help the boom the lift upward and downward

CONNECTING ROD:

A connecting rod, also called a con rod, is the part of a piston engine which connects the piston to the crankshaft. Together with the crank, the connecting rod converts the reciprocating motion of the piston into the rotation of the crankshaft.

ROCKER ARM CYLINDER:

It is connected with Front body and Rocker arm rod, to control the motion of Rocker arm rod.

ROCKER ARM ROD:

It helps to lift the boob. It is placed in upward of the boom and Front body.

ROCKER ARM:

A rocker arm (in the context of an internal combustion engine of automotive, marine, motorcycle and reciprocating aviation types) is an oscillating lever that conveys radial movement from the cam lobe into linear movement at the poppet valve to open it.

SCREW:

A screw and a bolt, are similar types of fastener typically made of metal, and characterized by a helical ridge, known as a male thread. Screws and bolts are used to fasten materials by the engagement of the screw thread with a similar female thread in the matching part.

BOOM:

If a wheel loader drives over a bump, the resulting shock is transferred from the tire to the chassis, setting the mass of the boom with attachment in motion. This results in dangerous boom oscillation that can negatively affect the driving comfort, the safety and thus the handling performance of the machine.

BUCKET:

The bucket of your wheel loader is essential to its performance and versatility. As different jobs require different attachments, Hitachi has a range of buckets that can be customised to meet your needs and suit various operating conditions.

RIM:

The rim is the "outer edge of a wheel, holding the tire". It makes up the outer circular design of the wheel on which the inside edge of the tire is mounted on vehicles such as automobiles.

TYRE:

A tire or tyre is a ring-shaped component that surrounds a wheel's rim to transfer a vehicle's load from the axle through the wheel to the ground and to provide traction on the surface over which the wheel travels.
