Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_7_ Metal bracket-II
METAL BRACKET ll
Objective:
To create "Metal Bracket ll" from the given 2D Drawing
INTRODUCTION:
Sheet metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. Sheet metal is one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes. Countless everyday objects are fabricated from sheet metal. Thicknesses can vary significantly, extremely thin sheets are considered foil or leaf, and pieces thicker than 6 mm (0.25 in) are considered plate steel or "structural steel."
DESCRIPTION OF TOOLS:
Normal Cutout is a command to cut material by projecting a sketch onto the model and then cutting perpendicular to the surfaces intersected by the projection
Break Corner is a command to round or chamfer sharp corners of a tab or flanges.
Unbend is a command used to flatten the sheet metal with respect to one flat sheet.
Rebend is a command used to bring back the flatten sheet due to unbend feature to its original shape.
Hole is the command to create a hole on the surface.
TAB is the command to create a base feature by extruding a sketch along a vector bt a thickness values or by adding material to existing faces and bend regions of a sheet metal parts.
Flanges is the command to add a flat flange at an angle to a plane face and add a bend between the two. A flange consist of a bend region and a web.
Bend is the command used to bend a tab or flanges along the sketch on the surface of tab or flanges.
Gusset is a command which add a rib like structure between two sheet metal. It is also used for stiffening sheet metal.
Advance Flange is a type of flange command which can create flan over curved edges also.
