Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_5_Odd Shaped Enclosure
ODD SHAPED ENCLOSURE
Objective:
To design a 'Sheet Metal part for Odd Shapes' using Simens NX Sheet Metal Application
Introduction:
Sheet Metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. Sheet metal is one of the fudumental forms used in metalworking and it can be cut and bend into a variety of shapes. Countless everyday objects are fabricated from sheet metal. Thickness can vary significantly; extremely thin sheets are considered foil or leaf, and pieces thicker than 6 mm (0.25 in) are considered plate steel or :Structural Steel".

Description of Tools:
Flanges is the command to add a flat flange at an angle to a plane face and add a bend between the two. A flange consist of a bend region and a web.
Bead is a command to lift material along the contour of a sketch that simulates a stamping tool. Beads can also be created to stiffen sheet metal parts.
Unbend is a command used to flatten the sheet metal with respect to one flat tab or surface.
Rebend is a command used to bring back the flatten sheet to its original shape.
Jog is a command to create an offset or a step in a tab. The section for the jog must consist of a single line across a planer face. NX creates a jog by lifting a material on one side of the jog line and adding a flange between the two sides.
Hole is the command to create a hole on the surface.
Sheet Metal from Solid is a feature which is used to create solid body into sheet metal.
