Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge
Aim :
To calculate the Wheel Arc area and prove whether the car will pass the standards or Not.
Fender :
- It is the part of an automobile, motorcycle or other vehicle body that frames a wheel well (the fender underside).
- A fender protects and frames its wheels and keeps mud from splashing it.
Wheel Arch :
The wheel arch is the semicircular part positioned above the wheel of a vehicle. The most important body change was that the front wheel arch was cut higher into the fender. The car has big, high-definition headlights that extend to the wheel arch.
Japan Regulations :

European Regulations :

SA - SA :
L = 9.95 mm

SB - SB :
L = 10 mm

SC - SC :
L = 0 mm
SD - SD :
L = 0.76

Clearanc 'L' at SA - SA :
L = -6.06

Clearance :
Clearance A at 30 line SB :
a = 43.36

Clearance A at 50 line SC :
a = 38.25

Table :
| Section | L (>10 mm) | Result | a (> 5mm) | Result |
| SA - SA | 9.95 mm | Fail | 43.36 mm | Pass |
| SB - SB | 10.00 mm | Pass | ||
| SC - SC | 0.00 mm | Fail | 38.25 mm | Pass |
| SD - SD | -0.76 mm | Fail | ||
| SE - SE | -6.06 mm | Fail |
Conclusion :
From the observations we can conclude that the above results does not pass the European Standards.
