Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge

there are different fender regulations for different markets og the world. for example Japan, the USA, Europe have different fender regulations each.

for Japan, we need to measure the distance L in three different positions within 30 degree forward and 50 degree rearward area formed over the tyre area. clearance must be greater than 5 mm in all the three positions, i.e., from the central vertical axis of the axis of wheel.

for the European regulations, we need to check it a t 5 locations. all the distance values should be greater than 10 mm to satisfy the design parameters. clearance must be greater than 5 mm in all the three positions, i.e., from the central vertical axis of the axis of wheel.

we need to take one major requirement and satisfy the constrains over a fixed value to launch the parts in all the locations without any design change.

for the USA regulations, we need to do the check from -100 degrees to 100 degrees and make the clearance table. All values should be greater than 5 mm to satisfy design constrains.

the snapshots of measurements were taken at 5 different locations according tot he European standards.

SA-SA region : 10 mm

SB-SB region : 9.9 mm

SC-SC region : 2.7 mm

SD-SD region : 1.2 mm

SE-SE region : tyre is outside the fender boundary

as we can see from the distance analysis, there are 4 regions where the distance is less than 10 mm. therefore this design is not good for launch and use in all the markets across japan, the USA and the European markets.
