Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge

AIM: - To calculate wheel arc radius for the given model and check whether it passes the European standard or not.

ABOUT WHEEL ARCH: - The wheel arch is the space just and to the inside of our tires are constantly in contact with the road, every bit of debris they kick up has the potential to hit the wheel arch and wheel house area of our vehicle. Most cars have an inner piece - the wheelhouse and outer skin wheel arch panel that form this area that people commonly refer to as the “wheel opening”, while many trucks especially around their rear wheels may have three pieces that make up this area. Regardless of the make and model of our vehicles, once your wheel openings start to rust you don’t want to wait too long to perform the wheel arch rust repair. Rust in your wheel arches will only get worse over time and eventually spread to other areas of the vehicle, causing even more costly damage.

Wheel Arch is an arch shaped cavity in the fender bad, which houses a wheel. The main intention for the calculation of wheel arc radius is to position the wheel inside the fender body, because during motion the car tyres will tend to throw particles present on the road like sand, mud particles, etc. It is a semicircular profile above wheels designed for enclosing tire within the vehicle is in motion. The wheel arch also ensures stopping any debris that could possibly fly outside the wheel well and hit pedestrians.
