Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge

Report :-

Wheel Arch

Definition : To prevent mud, stone, foreign particles to through out of by wheel towards pedestrian wheel arch is provided.

Wheel arch have some standard specifications:-

If wheel is outside the fender it does more cheeping so causes damage to pedestrians and also to the vehicle

so for safety of pedestrian and car we have to positions this wheel inside the fender.

Japan standard:-While seeing from front side.

In this took two lines horizontal and vertical called SB then took a line form point and make angle between vertical line and inclined line SC as 50 deg to right.

Then second line form same center line and took angle between them 30 deg left called SA.

Now project this points on front top view and mark points there,so distance between two point must be 5mm according to japan standard.

Europian Standard:

Here,as discuss above took two lines horizontal and vertical then took one inclined line 50deg towards left and another one line 30deg toward left.

Took one more 2d point indicate as SE on circle and took a distance from horizontal line as 150mm and then took a line from point as center and drew a line inclined and through point then took one bisector line from those two lines and marked a point there. Then project all those points on wheel arch

Area.

As per europian standard this distance must be 10mm minimum .

United states standard:

Here also two lines are drawn horizontal and vertical lines then takes a line inclined and 50 deg to right and another line 30deg to left from mid line.

Took alien and form -20 deg to 0 deg for every 10 deg value up to 100 deg in left direction.then projected them and measured distance between points this must be 5 mm to safety regulations.

Procedure:-took new datum plane took a point on ellipse/circle and select a circle for this then go to sketch took line horizontal and vertical lines took another line which is inclines and took angle form vertical line 50 deg forward and 30 deg reveres direction . took 2d point and select point on circle/ellipse took a distance from horizontal line as 150mm and drew a line through that point then take new point by point of intersection of curve and line took new point did same for other two also.now by taking line of 50 deg angle and line which is taken as 150mm from horizontal line drew new bisector line. And took point for this by point of intersection.then did all this lines as reference lines now by using 2d project curve option extract this curve of fender and then project all this points on this curve now by using analysis option measured distance between new point projected point

This distance must by 10mm as universal standard.if those are less than 10mm then wheel must be inside the flange so we will show it in negative value.

Conclusion:-Conclusion for this is (SB,SC,SD,SE) that is wheel has to move backward to go inside the fender to avoid damage to pedestrian as well vehicle.
