FENDER DESIGN

Introduction

Fender is a metal enclosure over the wheels of an automobile or other vehicle to protect against splashing of mud, stones, water etc.

The fenders are located over the wheels of the vehicle – two in the front right and left, and two in the rear right and left of your vehicle.

Fenders are classified into two types:

  1. Full bumper type

  1. Half bumper type

Mountings:

Fenders are mounted in 5 areas;

  • Drip Area – in the Engine room
  • Bumper Mounting – Front end
  • Sill Mounting – to join with the Bottom frame
  • A-Pillar Mounting – to join with the Car body side
  • Baffel Mounting – to place the baffle to form wheel well

Design of the Fender

The master section for the Drip area mounting is given based on which the Drip mount is created. Then the other mounting regions are created.
