Fender Design Challenge
Fender
Fender is automobile part that frames a wheel well. Fender prevent damage of Engine compartment from mud, sand, small, stone, liquids being thrown into the air by the rotating tire.
Fender is attached with Sill, Bumper, A-Pillar, and drip (Which is under the hood near Engine compartment)

Fender has two types
- Full bumper type
- Half bumper types
Now a day half bumper type fender is mostly used in industry, while manufacturing full bumper type fender need of material is more than half bumper type fender, also scrape is more formed in full bumper type fender so for weight reduction purpose Half bumper type fender is used in industry
There are 5 mounting point in fender
- Body
- A Pillar
- Sill
- Cowl
- Drip
In our design we made 4 Mounting point they are
- Drip mount
- A pillar mounts
- Sill mount
- Bumper mount
- Splashes Cover mount

Deep Drawing:
Deep Drawing is one of the sheet metal forming processes widely used in automobile, aerospace, electronics and allied industries
Deep drawing is a manufacturing process that is used extensively in the forming of sheet metal into cup or box like structures
Press punching:
As we use push pin to attach splash to fender it need only holes ,
For making of those holes we use punch press which is simple press machine connected with punch die of required diameter.
Bending Machine:
Bending is one of the most common Sheet metal fabrication operations. Also known as press braking, flanging, this method is used to deform a material to an angular shape. Press machine is also used for bending purpose.
Dart:
In drip area drip mount is like cantilever so To maintain NVH ( Noise, Vibration, Harshness ) dart is formed on drip Area it defiantly reduce the noise vibration.
