Fender Design
AIM: To design front fender with Drip area, Bumper, A pillar and Sill mounting as per the master section.
Fendor:
Fendor is a outer body panel component used to prevent the spraying of mud, debris, small stones while driving on road or during braking.
These debris and other materail can harm the vehicle body or the other vehicles running on the roads.
Fendor also help to reduce the noise comig from the friction of tyre and road. This help for a comfortable ride. As the fendors are designed considering the NVH rules.
There are Two types of fendors used in cars:
A. Full Bumper Type Fender
B. Half Bumper Type Fender
A. Full Bumper Type Fender
It that cover the tire, the fender forms the wheel well surrounding the tire, and is not directly visible from above the car body. This type of fender increases the weight and scrap and reduces mielage .

B. Half Bumper Type Fender
Half bumper type is the modern design where less material consumption is observed, so productivity increases by reducing the size of the blank and thus providing more performance. The maintenance also relatively low compared to the full bumper type.
We are changed from full bumper type to half bumper type to reduce the scrap rate per blank. In the full bumper, we can only produce one Fender per blank, whereas as a half bumper type we can produce 2 fenders per blank.

Functions of Fender -
- Car fenders limit the exposure of your car’s body and engine to external elements that are harmful.
- Fenders flares are attached to ensure that both the body and engine have minimal contact with corrosive elements.
- Car fenders provide safety to the driver and the passengers at the time of accidents or collisions. They are manufactured in a way to provide bend during front and side collisions.
- Car fenders are designed to avoid wind resistance and make your car more aerodynamic.
- Car fenders enhance the overall look of your car. Fender flares are available in distinctive designs in the market. Mostly you find universal fender flares, but you can get customized cars fenders to fit your car wheels.
Mountings Point of Fender

Design Procedure:
Design of fendor start with analysing the input styling surace. After that mounting locatons are fixed as per requirement.
Deign include the creating mounting points one by one.
1. Drip Pan Mounting-
These mounting helps to attach the fendor to the engine compartment. As per master section 300mm or less area is kept for cowl panel.
At the headlight end there must be 150mm gap.
Two darts are provided to strengthen the mounting.

2. Sill Mounting
The sill mounting is use to attaching the fender with the sill of the car. Emboss & holes are given to attach the fender to sill.

3. Bumper Mounting
Bumper mounting area is used to fix the plastic bumper to the fender with the help of the fasteners.

4. A-Piller Mounting

5. Baffle Mounting
There are additional holes are provided to support the fender lining. it is a Plastic which is used as a barrier between fender & outside particles, dust, rocks. Plastic cover is used to protect the dust & rock and it is mounted on Fender via Trim clips.

Conclusion:
Successfully created front fendor with drip, A Pillar, Sill, Baffle and Bumper mountings.
