Door Arm Rest Week 8 Challenge
DOOR ARM REST
Aim:-
- Creating the Door Arm Rest component through the given Class-A surface of 2.5 mm thickness with the tooling axis meeting the requirement of the draft angle and at end performing the draft analysis model.
Procedure:-
Class A surface:
- Inside the automotive industry there will be performing the aesthetic designing of various component including the whole vehicle ,then they will create concept sketch. after that they will create also Class A surface of the product. This Class A surface further sends to the CAD team .then they inspect the design.here i received inspected Class A surface of the Door Arm Rest console as below.

Class B surface:
- Class B surface was created from the Class A surface using 'Extract/Multiple Extract ' option. Class B surface was offseted at a distance of 2.5 mm thickness from A surface .fillet were applied after necessary calculations. Class B surface created along with the Class A surface as shown below.

Class C surface:
- Class C surface swept along the boundary of Class A using 'sweep' option at an normal angle to the Class A surface with respect to the tooling axis. A nominal draft angle of 3 degree was applied. The Class C surface joined along with the Class A surface ,as shown in below.

Closed surface:-
- By using closed surface part workbench operation, we convert surface into solid component.

Draft analysis:-
- We performed draft analysis on the final component.
- Here green colour indicate draft angle is more than zero degree,it means component having draft.
- Blue colour indicate ,there is no draft.

Tree diagram:-

Conclusion:-
- We sucessfully completed Door Arm Rest on CATIA V5 software.
