Design of backdoor

Use the provided styling surface to come up with a back door design, use appropriate design methodologies, and provide the necessary reinforcements and embosses

Ans:

Given Backdoor Surface

Now, we need to check for the gaps in the given surface by using the sew operation

Now, we hide those surfaces that are creating Disjoint error, and then by using bridge curve command and through Curve mesh command we will create new surface

Now, we will create upper and lower surfaces

Upper panel

Lower panel with minimum 8mm flange for spot welding

Now, we extract both the Upper and lower body and save the upper and lower body as a new model in the same folder

Now, we will create an Assembly and follow the top down approach.

We will create a new component i.e. Backdoor Inner panel as we have created the outer panel and for that we will use the Wave geometry linker command in Assemblies toolbar and select the faces to be Linked

Now, we will create the tooling direction

Now, we will create the sealing flange

Now, we create windshield joining

Now, we need to create the mastic seal part

Now, we we will create emboss

Draft Analysis:

Now, we will create the Reinforcements for the highlighted areas

Gas Stay Reinforcement LHS and RHS:

Hinge Reinforcement LHS and RHS:

Wiper Motor Reinforcement:

Latch and Striker Reinforcement:

Now, we will create the hemming surface

Upper Surface:

Lower Surface:

Now, we will thicken the Inner and outer (upper and lower) Panel.

Inner Panel:

Outer Panel (Upper):

Outer Panel (Lower):

Final Assembly:

Note: Unable to compress the folder less than 20mb hence attaching individual files.
