Creating Walls, Partition walls and Floors for a residential layout using REVIT

1. Edit floor type and thickness

AIM

To edit the floor type and thickness as mentioned in the challenge

Steps

• Select the Architecture tap flooring
• Then flooring ribbion tab under modify select pick a line
• Then select the outer line of the layout as boundary
• Then finish flooring
• Then in properties tap edit type
• Then select the flooring as oak flooring and thickness as 0'6''
• Then align it with horizontal and vertical grid lines

2. Edit wall type and thickness

AIM

To edit the wall type and thickness as mentioned in the challenge

Steps

• Select the Architecture tap wall
• Then in properties tap edit type
• Then select the wall type as clad white and thickness as 0'9''

a) wall being unconnected is benefical as designed as 1 storey building the outer wall extended to level 2 and inner wall height shall be 2 feets down hence unconnected height shall be beneficial

b)Wall designing by height shall be more convenient, hence we can asociated or unconnected with level

3. Copy and paste the elements

Aim

To create first floor by copying the elements and paste to aligned to first floor level

Steps

• Select all element of the ground floor
• Then modify ribbion will appear and then in paste option copy it to clipboard
• Paste dropdown list select paste to selected level
• Then level popups will appear and then select to first floor
• Then all elements shall be pasted in first floor level

4. Create residential layout by using interior wall

Aim

To create the residential layout by using interior wall

Steps

• Open revit software and create new project
• Create outline layout by using generic wall
• Then create room partition by using interior wall
• Dimensions shall be 53' x 32'
• Living / Dinning - 27' x 20'
• Kitchen - 9' x 20'
• Bed room - 17' x 15' / 18' x 12', 17' x 17'
• Laundry / Toilet - 9' x 12'

5.Place the components

Aim

To place the components as mentioned in the chalenge

Steps

• Place Doors and windows in the wall at appropriate locations
• At architecture ribbion,tab component then place component, at Living Room load furniture set, couch table and TV desk and shelf cabinets
• At architecture ribbion tab, tap component then place component at Dining Room load families table and chairs serving the purpose of eating
• At architecture ribbion tab, tap component then place component at Bed Room must include a bed set, shelf, lighting and individual study desk and chair eating
• At architecture ribbion tab, tap component then place component at Rest room should include bath tub and plumbing fixtures discussed in class
• At architecture ribbion tab, tap component then place component at Kitchen should include countertops, gas stove cabinet and shelves to store food items
• At architecture ribbion tab, tap component then place component at The wash/storage room can include washing machines and shelves to store clothes
