1) Using Dynamo create a set of sinusoidal points and create a curve and create a surface out of the curve.

ANS -

AIM :

To create using Dynamo create a set of sinusoidal points

create a curve and

create a surface out of the curve

INTRODUCTION :

Dynamo is an open-source software platform for computational design and building information modeling (BIM). Through a friendly visual interface, construct logic routines to smooth and automate workflows, find optimum solutions, and sift through design options.

Autodesk Dynamo is a programming environment that requires no programming experience. Dynamo enables designers to create visual logic so they can explore a wide range of parametric conceptual designs using logic, simple data and analysis without the need to create a physical prototype.

PROCEDURE :

Open Revit from the desktop

From the manage tab open Dynamo

Click on New in Dynamo

First in Library type slider and select integer slider

Copy the integer slider three times & set the range for start, end & step

In Library type range and select range

Now connect the integer slider to start, end & step

In Library type coordinates and select point by coordinates

Now connect list to x

Copy the point by coordinate and paste on the screen

In Library type code block and select code block

In Library type Math sin and select math.sin

Now connect range list to angle of math.sin

In Library type product and select *

Connect code block to product y and also to point by coordinate z

Connect math.sin double to product x

And product number to z of other point by coordinate

In Library type curve and select nurbs curve by control point

Copy the nurbs curve and paste another nurbs curve

Connect both coordinate points to both nurbs curve points

In Library type List and select List create

Connect both nurbscurve to List create item0, item 1

In Library type surface and select surface by loft

Connect list to cross Section

A sinusoidal curve is created as shown in the result

RESULT :

Code used to create sinusoidal curve by using points by coordinate, nurbs curve & surface by loft

Created sinusoidal curve

2) Create a conceptual layout of floor plan in dynamo . Using the tools available in dynamo link the lines to appropriate model elements in Revit by choosing the wall types and wall parameters. Make use of the sliders to slide through the height of the wall and length of the wall.

ANS -

AIM : To create a conceptual layout of floor plan in dynamo

PROCEDURE :

Open Revit from the desktop

From the manage tab open Dynamo

Click on New in Dynamo

First in Library type slider and select integer slider

Copy the integer slider one times & set the range for 200

In Library type coordinate and select point by coordinate

Copy the point by coordinate and paste on the screen 3 time

Connect sliders by point by coordinate as shown in result

In Library type line and select line by start point end point

Copy line by start point end point & paste it 3 more times

Connect line's start point to the point by coordinates list

In Library type list and select list create

Connect the list create item0, item1, item2, item3 to the line

In Library type wall and select wall type

In Library type wall and select wall by curve and height

In Library type slider and select integer slider

Change the name to height of integer slider

In Library type level and select level

Set the level to level 1

Now connect the wall type, slider, level and list to the wall by curve and height

In Library type floor and select Floor by outline type and level

RESULT :

Code used to create conceptual layout of floor plan in dynamo

3D view in Revit

3D view Floor

3) Create an array of model elements in Revit. Use dynamo to vary the properties of model elements by using the slider or code block

ANS -

AIM : Create using dynamo to vary the properties (rotation) of model elements by using the slider or code block

PROCEDURE :

Open Revit and create array of Column

Open Revit software

In new architectural template

Go to architecture and select architectural column

Insert 4 columns as shown

Go to manage tab, click on dynamo under visual programming

Dynamo window will open

Create a new dynamo model

CREATE ROTATION IN DYNAMO

Insert Select Model Elements

Click on Select and select the all the column from Revit

Insert Integer Slider and provide the angle to the slider

Insert FamilyInstance.SetRotation and provide inputs from Select Model Element and Integer Slider

RESULT :

Created using dynamo to vary the properties (rotation) of model elements by using the slider or code block

4) Create a conceptual mass in Revit and develop a parametric column by dividing the surfaces and apply the concepts similar to used in parametric walkway modelling. Use triangular bent or square shaped panels to add finish to the parametric column

ANS -

AIM : Create the Conceptual Mass in Revit, create a form and use property of triangular bent icon in the parametric column

PROCEDURE :

Open Conceptual Mass

Open Revit software

Go to File tab, from new select Conceptual Mass

Select Metric Mass from Conceptual Mass folder, click Open

Create Spine Column Line

Go to east elevation

Click on model from modify tab then select pick line from draw tool

Provide offset of 12’ from Level 1

Go to level 1 floor plan

In create tab select spline from draw tool and create 4 points

Create parametric solid form

In 3D view, select created column line

Set plane at each created point

Select polygon and create at all point with mass of 12’

Again, select created column line and first polygon

In modify tab, drop down create form and select solid form

Create triangular bent

Select only form with the help of filter

Click on divide surface

After selecting the form change the property of pattern and number of U & V grid

Select the pattern Triangle bent

RESULT :

Created the Conceptual Mass in Revit &

Created a form and use property of triangular bent icon in the parametric column

5) Use Dynamo to work on developing a Parametric Stadium. List your parameters and use the visual programming approach to complete the modelling, You can use the concepts discussed in parametric high rise tower in class for reference.

ANS -

AIM : To use Dynamo to work on developing a Parametric Stadium.

PROCEDURE :

Initially open a new architectural template in Revit and then open dynamo.

Basic parameters to design a high rise structure is created as input in dynamo.

In Library type sliders and select integer sliders

Four integer sliders is taken from the library for the following: Number of levels

Floor to floor height

Bottom floor rotation

Top floor rotation

In Library type coordinates by origin and select coordinates by origin

Then connect the code block as input for z coordinate in the coordinate by origin block.

In Library type code block and select code block

To combine level and floor to floor height and type (0..#levels..Floorheight).

Now, connect the integer sliders named as levels and floor to floor height as input to the code block.

Five points are generated corresponding to 5 levels.

Now, insert rectangle by width and length from the library.

For this, inputs required are coordinate system, length and width.

So insert integer slider for length and width.

Then connect the inputs for the rectangle block.

In Library type origin and select point origin.

In Library type vector and select vector.ZAxis

Degrees: For this insert a code block and type (Bottom..Top..#level).

The inputs for this code block is already available i.e, Bottom floor rotation, top floor rotation and levels.

Now we have to rotate the geometry.

In Library type rotate and select geometry rotate.

In Library type surface and select Surface by loft.

Now, we have to create surface, for this type surface by loft in library.

Then connect Geometry.rotate block as input for Surface by loft.

RESULT :

The Code for Parametric Stadium have been given below:

The Parametric Stadium have been created
