Creating Architectural and Structural model with 3D rendering using REVIT
Q 1) Select the type of structure you want to build from one of the three below:
a. Multi-Unit Residential Apartment
b. Office Buildings
c. School
Answer:- Multi-Unit Residential Apartment.
Q 2) Assume reasonable assumptions for geographic and location details for your project modeling. Based on assumptions and type of structure selected identify the modeling requirements from NBC
Answer:- Location is Noida sector-10,Block 'D' street number 06, UP-201301,India.
- The selected project is in a residential area.
- The width of the road of the Plot is 10m.
- The size of the Plot is 32mX38m. And carpet area is 22mX24m.
- The FAR of the plot is 2, which is within the prescribed limits as per NBC.
- Height Limit of building as per NBC,
- Fire & Life safety as per NBC part-4.
- Length & width of rooms as per NBC
Q 3) Using the structural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
a. Foundation – Isolated / Wall/Matt Foundation
b. Columns
c. Beams Connected to Columns
d. Roof Framing/ Truss
e. Floor / Decks
f. Floor Openings for Elevators and Stairs
Aim:- To create Foundation, Columns, Beams Connected to Columns, Roof Framing, Floor, and Floor Openings for Elevators and Stairs in structural model on my residential project.
Procedure:-
- open the structural model which has been created in week 6.
- create the Levels as per project requirement.

- Create longitudinal & transverse grids as per the requirement project on the foundation level.

- Go to load family and load footing as per required

- structural>foundation>isolated footing_ duplicate the footing and resize it as required and insert it in the desired location.

- structural>concrete column_ duplicate the column and resize it as required and insert it in the desired location.

- Structural>Beam_ connect beams on-desire location. in the below image, we can see the footing, column, beam.
- Now, let's create a floor for that go-to structural>floor>select the boundary of the floor.

- structural>truss> place the truss in the desired location

- now, let's provide an opening for elevation and staircase, for that go-to structure>shaft>rectangle.

- opening for staircase & elevation has been created on first floor & roof floor.
Result:- All the structural element has been provided in our structural model.

Q 4) Using the architectural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
a. Wall Layout with appropriate material and finishing
b. Exterior façade with fancy finish
c. Interior partition walls to size rooms
d. Components to add details to a room ( Desk, Chair, Lighting, Plumbing fixtures)
e. Add components such as stairs Elevators
f. Have at least one side of the building with curtain walls and glass panels
g. Include interior and exterior lighting fixtures
h. Place proper topographic components from outside ( Trees, Parking, Plants) to add details to the model
Aim:- To the architectural model, include the components based on the type of structure selected.
Procedure:- First open the architectural model which has been created in week 6 for project 2, and let's provide the all required component.
- Let's wall with material & finishing for this go-to architectural>wall>edit type (choose the material & finishing as required)

- external facade

- architectural>wall>interior wall

- Add all required components for this go-to archchitectural>comonebt>load component.

- To add staircase go-to architectural>stair

- to add light go-to component>load family>add the desired light at a particular location

- to add topographic components go to massing & site>site component and add desire tree and plants

Result:-all the required components have been added as per the question.

5) Provide a set of drawings in an architectural and structural model to list the following details with categories and appropriate sheet templates included
a. Floor Plans with Annotations
b. Elevations
c. Sections
Aim:- To provide a set of drawing in architectural and structural models to list the following details with categories and appropriate sheet templates includes.
Procedure:-
- Go to View tab>sheets(select sheet size)>add the views
Results:-
- Floor Plan

- Elevation

- Section-A

Q 6) Using the Rendering settings, Render images of the 3D model produced and include the rendered images to the drawing sheets
a. Rendering from interior rooms
b. Rendering from out showing topographic features
c. Rendering through structural framing
Aim:- To use the Rendering settings, Render images of the 3D model are produced and include the rendered images in the drawing sheets.
Procedure:-
- Go to View tab>render
- Go to View tab>sheets(select sheet size)>add the views

- set the rendering setting

Results:-
INTERIOR ROOM

3. STRUCTURAL FRAMING

Q 7) Print the set of drawing sheets created and submit the drawings from the architecture and structure model
Aim:- To print the set of drawing sheets created.
Procedure:-
- go to file tab>print

- Click on the selected sheet>rendering view I have selected.

Results:-
