Creating a Layout, Section and Elevation with dimensions using AutoCad

AIM: To create a Layout, Section and Elevation with dimensions using AutoCad.

INTRODUCTION:

• To draft the given layout , section and elevations the tools used are mainly:
• Line command, XL line, Offset command, Trim command.

PROCEDURE:

1. First the units of the sheet as Decimal type.
2. Then set the limits of the sheet and using zoom command , zoom the sheet ; then start drawing the layout.
3. Using the XL line command, draw the vertical and horizontal line respectively.
4. Then using the offset command, draft the rooms with exact measurements refering the given figure.
5. Using the trim command remove all the necessary lines and segments inorder to form the neat layout.
6. As usually draft the elevation plan and section using the same procedure.
7. Then finally using DIMLINEAR specify the dimensions.
8. Using MTEXT insert the text where ever required.
