Bird Strike - Project - 2
AIM:
- The final submission must include the input file, animation, and a report.
- Since this is a quite difficult and involved project, students are advised to log their debugging process and include it in the report. The log is a description of the solution process and challenges encountered along the way.
- The numbering approach should be described in the report.
- Usage of mass scaling is encouraged and the trial and error should be included in the report as well.

Procedure:
1. Open the LS-Prepost interface. At first all the parts were available in single file so the parts present in the file are separately saved in different files in .k format. Numbering should be very consistent as requested.
2. Create a part card for the casing and delete all other parts from the file. Then create sec_id according to the shell element. The material is defined on each part
3. Create main file named partset which will include AI-mat.k, blade.k and hub.k in a single embodiment.
4. Create contact cards. Two types of contact are tied-contact between blade and hub (master part is hub and slave is blade), the next one is for the contact between bird and blade (master part is hub and slave is blade).

5. Next step is to create boundary cards to include in the main file. For boundary condition, we are creating two types of boundary conditions which are SPC and initial velocity. SPC is created on the casing and angular velocity of the blade and hub is 0.209 m/s and bird velocity 28 mm/ms
6. The next step is to define the control cards. In the control card, we've created hourglass, timestep and termination cards. DTinIT is 0.01 and termination time is 10 ms.

7. RUn the key word checker to look for any errors and warning.
Conclusion:
Bird strike on aero engine model is been created with parts and supporting files each in separate .k file format.
