Week 3 - 2D meshing for Sheet metal

AIM:
For the given hood model, geometrical error checkup isto be done followed by taking mid-surface which is then meshed for given quality criteria.
GIVEN DETAILS:
Target/average length 5
Min Length 2
Max Length 7
Aspect Ratio 3
Warpage 15
Skewness 45
Jacobian 0.7
Minimum Quad Angle 45
Maximum Quad Angle 135
Minimum Triangle Angle 30
Maximum Triangle Angle 120
Triangle Percentage 15
REQUIRED OUTPUT:
2D mesh must follow Quality Criteria
Good Mesh FLow
Thickness for the midsurface
PROCEDURE:
1. INITIAL SETUP
a. Open ANSA v19.14
b. Launcher > Other: {-performance_mode 3}
c. File>Open>hood.stp

d. Topo>Selectall
e. Mesh > perimeter > length > selectall {length =5}. repeat for macros.
f. Property

g. Material

2. GEOMETRICAL ERROR CHECKUP
a. In Topo Module
check manager >geometry >execute with single con and triple con
total 191 errors at initial
select automatic fix as suggested by ANSA
remaining 64 errors
show only triple cons
use And operator
release cons and delete unnecessary hot points
geometry checks>autofix
remaining 61 errors
select single cons show only
for the following selected cons

release cons, topo at neccesary cons
finally

Also similary procedure following cons are corrected

Add operator, release cons, add new faces, topo operation are the neccessary tools for these geometry error corrections

Finally

3. MID SURFACE
offset to -0.375 from the surface with no to delete original surface
cross hatch is used to select face at ease.
set PID and save with new property name with thickness 0.75mm

4. MESHING
Best mesh is used to generate meshing after selecting required quality check from manager too box (F12)

reconstruct and smooth with split and swap of element are used to generate good flow pattern in meshing on mid surface
