Week 4 - 2D Meshing for Sheet Metal
Given:
CCB Assembly CAD model
Target length 5, Min length 3, Max length 7, Aspect 3, Warpage 15, Skewness 45, Jacobian 0.7, Min Quad Angle 45,
Max Quad Angle 135, Min Tri Angle 30, Maximum Tri Angle 120, Triangle percentage 15%.
Aim:
1. To take the mid surface.
2. Mesh the mid surface after giving thickness.
Procedure:
1. Download the model from dashboard in to week 4 file.
2. Open ANSA with {-performance_mode 3}.
3. Open downloaded file in iges format as shown in figure1.
4.Choose check manager>geomertry:
a. Geometry error checkup is done for whole model.
b. Check for tick mark on triple con and single con, execute error analysis.
c. For the list of errors apply auto fix.
d. For the remaining errors select show only option.
e. Use commands cons>release, Faces>delete, Faces>new and auto fix in chack manager.
5. Make sure green tick is shown in geometry error checkup.
6. MID-SURFACE generation using automatic midsurface>casting method, select all the geometry
with thickness 1mm and length 5mm with conssider as one component.
7. Goto Mesh Module, with Quality Criteria and mesh criteria as given mesh the model with length 5mm and macros 5mm.
8. Quality of Mesh is initially shown in figure 2.
9. Poor Quality of Mesh and formation of duplicate surface and void meshes. Delete all mid-surface and continue.
10. Use PSHELL in Database, to view each shell one by one by using showonly option.
11. For each PSHELL
a. check geometry
b. create offset for mid plane generation
c. use auxiliaries>fine to correct geometry of mid surface
12. SET PID with thichkness
13. Mesh using Best Mesh and verify the quality criteria
