AIM:

To prepare a report explaining about and what is benchmarking by comparing a car.

BENCHMARKING:

Benchmarking is the practice of comparing business processes and performance metrics to industry bests and best practices from other companies.
It is defined as the process of measuring products, services and processes against those of organizations known tom be leaders in one or more aspects of their operations. For example, pricing, mileage, maintenance cost, driving experience & engine variant.

OBJECTIVE:

D.S. Pughazhyendhii is a married man who lives in Bangalore which is a highly crowded city. His Family comprises five members including his wife, five-year-old boy, his father, and his mother. He visits his native place Madurai which is 500kms away from Bangalore once in a month. Also, he will be using his car to commute to his office. His budget falls between 8 to 10 lakhs on road. Please suggest to him with options so that he will buy a good car for his family.

1.Hyundai i20:

Hyundai has always raised the bar for the premium hatchback segment with each new iteration of the i20, and the latest, third-generation model is no different. It brings in a whole host of class-leading features you'd otherwise only find a segment above, and it's available with a choice of three engines - a 1.2 petrol, 1.0 turbo-petrol and 1.5 diesel - and a wide array of gearbox options too. However, the price has also gone up this time, and the new Hyundai i20 is easily the most expensive hatchback in the class.

2.Kia Sonet:

The Kia Sonet is the third model from Kia Motors India and arguably the most important. It enters the hotly contested compact SUV segment currently dominated by the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Breeza and the Sonet's own cousin, the Hyundai Venue. Other rivals include the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcoSport. With three engines (two petrol, one diesel) and several gearboxes (manual, iMT, torque-converter auto, DCT) spread over a wide price range, buyers have a lot to choose from. The Kia Sonet also offers a long equipment list including various segment first or best features, like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, cooled front seats, ambient lighting, a Bose sound system, connected car tech and more.

3.Renault Kiger:

The Kiger is Renault's long-awaited entry to the sub-four-metre compact SUV segment. It's based on the same CMF-A+ platform as the Triber, but takes on a more conventional five-seat SUV body style. It offers up four powertrain options - a 72hp 1.0 naturally aspirated petrol with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT, and a 100hp 1.0 turbo-petrol engine with a 5-speed manual or a CVT. It promises great value with a relatively low price range for the segment and a strong equipment.

4.Tata Nexon:

The Nexon is Tata’s swanky sub-four-metre compact SUV. And there’s a lot more to it than just show-car looks. Available across a wide price range, the Nexon can be had in multiple engine-gearbox options. On offer are petrol-manual, petrol-AMT auto, diesel-manual and diesel-AMT auto versions. The Tata Nexon holds the distinction of being the first Indian car to be rated 5 stars for safety by Global NCAP. 2020's update brings in revised styling and BS6-spec engines.

CONCLUSION:

Depend on mileage efficiency it would be better to move with (KIA SONET) as it has top notch interior finish and quality.
Depend on safety standard then (TATA NEXON) will be the best option as it has 5 stars(Global NACAP).

in my opinion KIA SONET will be my best car because of high mileage efficiency, spacious cabin and safety.
