Benchmarking:

It involves a structured comparison between similar products, service or processes on some dimensions of performance. The goal is to create and implement improvement plans and best practices to increase performance in the production lifecycle, and/or other manufacturing business processes and practices. By discovering the best achievable performance, process gaps can be eliminated.

While product benchmarking in automotive industry traditionally involves other manufacturers, its primary purpose is to positively impact internal process. Shown below is the benchmark which is carried out between two seven seater car and two 5 seater car.

Benchmark between Maruti Suzuki Ertiga LXi & Renault Triber RXZ Dual Tone [Seven Seater Capacity]

If Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii is selecting big cars then I would like to suggest Maruti Suzuki Ertiga LXi. This is because Ertiga is having more Bootspace and its engine cc is also more when compared to Renault Triber RXZ Dual Tone. Both cars are giving the same milage of 19 km/litr but the tank capacity for Ertiga is 45 litres while for Triber is only 40 litres. Thus it will make Ertiga to travel more distance when comprared with Triber. As per the above details shown, Etriga is having a range of 855.45km at full tank while Triber is having a range of only 760km. Which is almost 95.45km difference. Hence it would be wise for Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii to choose Maruti Suzuki Ertiga LXi as a final option if he is planning to choose a 7 seater car.

On the other hand, If Mr.D.S. Pughazhyendhii is planning to select a car among 5 seater, then following two cars seems to fall better in that category.

It is better for Mr.D.S. Pughazhyendhii to go with Toyota Glanza G since it is giving a milage of about 21 km/litr while Tata Punch is giving only about 18 km. The driving range under a full tank capacity is about 777km for Toyota Glanza G while Tata Punch is having a range of only 702km even though both the cars are having a same fuel tank capacity of 37 litres. Hence it would be wise for Mr.D.S. Pughazhyendhii to choose Toyota Glanza G.
