Coming to the Challenge:
CASE STUDY FOR BENCHMARKING TO BUY A PERFECT CAR FOR FAMILY
Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii is a married man who lives in Bangalore which is a highly crowded city. His Family comprises five members including his wife, five-year-old boy, his father, and his mother. He visits his native place Madurai which is 500kms away from Bangalore once in a month. Also, he will be using his car to commute to his office. His budget falls between 8 to 10 lakhs on road. Please suggest to him with options so that he will buy a good car for his family.
Note: Pughazhyendhii is fond of big cars
OBJECTIVE: Benchmarking the different vehicles according to the customer need.
STUDY: Before going to the features first we have to decide either to buy Petrol Car or Diesel Car. The are many differences between these two:
- The price of the Diesel car is more than the Petrol car.
- Coming to the most wanted part is 'Mileage'. The Diesel car gives more mileage than Petrol car.
- Diesel Car Engines have high Power and Torque compared to Petrol car Engine. Because the compression ratio is high in Diesel Engine.
- The Maintanance cost is low in Petrol car compared to Diesel Engine.
Keeping these factors in mind before making a decision to buy a what type of car.
As per the customer need, I will suggest an SUV (i.e., Crossover SUV).As compact SUV's are taller than the hatchbacks and the sedans, you sit at a higher height. These cars have higher ground clearance compared to hatchbacks and sedans. So it is very comfortable not only in cities but also in villages and also in Uneven roads. Since the customer was living in city the comfortness and lauguage capacity is aslo high in SUV.
Now we will see various SUVs in market between 8 to 10 lakhs.
