BENCHMARKING

PURPOSE

The purpose of making this Benchmark report was to help Mr D.S. Pughazhyendhii to select a best car which fulfils his necessity by benchmarking the latest available cars in market so that he will buy a best car in the required segment for his family.

CASE OF PERFORMING BENCHMARKING

Mr D.S. Pughazhyendhii is a married man who lives in Bangalore which is a highly crowded city. His Family comprises five members including his wife, five-year-old boy, his father, and his mother. He visits his native place Madurai which is 500kms away from Bangalore once in a month. Also, he will be using his car to commute to his office. His budget falls between 8 to 10 lakhs on road. Please suggest to him with options so that he will buy a good car for his family.

Note: Pughazhyendhii is fond of big cars

WHAT IS BENCHMARKING?

Benchmarking is defined as the process of measuring products, services, and processes against those of organizations known to be leaders in one or more aspects of their operations. Benchmarking provides necessary insights to help you understand how your organization compares with similar organizations, even if they are in a different business or have a different group of customers.

REQUIRED CRITERIA TO BE CONSIDERED FOR BENCHMARKING

• Mr D.S. Pughazhyendhii lives in highly crowded city.
• The car should be five seated.
• Safety should be the first priority as there is old people and a baby.
• Car should provide good Average as he use to travel 500 km once in a month from Bangalore to Madurai and he will be using his car to commute to his office.
• His Budget falls between 8 to 10 lakhs INR on road.
• He likes to buy big car.

As per the requirement of Mr D.S. Pughazhyendhii. He wanted the car which have 5 seats, has 5 star Safety, the car should be easy to controls in the crowded place, and the car should be big with good mileage.

So I have selected Crossover Hatchback, Sedan and Compact SUV Cars. The car I have selected are of Diesel Fuel type because of daily use by the buyer.

After looking the comparison between the above cars I will suggest that Mr D.S. Pughazhyendhii should buy Tata Nexon XE because of the 5 star safety for adults and 3 Star safety for child which has been tested. As Tata Nexon is India’s first five star car. It secures 16.06 out of 17 for adults and 25 out of 49 for child’s safety. Tata nexon comes with two airbags, ABS and ISOFIX child-seat mounted. The car is good in mileage so that it will not cost too much money to the buyer as compared to other vehicles in the segment. Although the car is easy to control in the crowded area, has a 5.1 m turning radius so that it can be parked easily. Car also has Automatic variant so that it will provide more comfort to the driver. Tata Nexon has 3 modes, they are Economy, City and Sports, so that it can be driven according to the situation. Tata Nexon also has a lavish interior and also many other features that makes it a value for money. Tata Nexon XE also falls under the budget of Mr D.S. Pughazhyendhii.
