  • since he is planning to purchase a car that falls in his budget of 8-10 lacs and meets all his Requirements and viable for his family members as well.
  • below is the benchmarking process done for the given case comparing the currently available models in the market.

by observing the aspects we can see that D.S. Pughazhyendhii needs a good car which has ..

  1. Low maintanance
  2. good mileage both city/highway
  3. overall safety
  4. comfortable engine output
  5. passenger comfort

by comparing some of the most preferable carsin the indian market under the given budget which are most selling in the segment we have shortlisted 4 cars which are..

  1. Hyundai venue
  2. maruth baleno
  3. Tata Nexon
  4. Kia Sonet
  • HYUNDAI VENUE 9.15 lac - this car comes with SUV body type and has a Kappa 1.2 L MPi Petrol engine which produces 81.86 Bhp at 4500 rpm and a peak 113Nm of torque at 3000 rpm which comes mated to a 5 speed manual gear box and gives a claimed mileage of 17.5 kmpl and has a 350litres of boot space. since this is a Mid trim it has most of the new generation features and misses out the features from top variant which cannot be given under preferable price range.
  • MARUTI BALENO 7.87lac - this car is a Hatch back body type and has a similar engine specs as of hyndai venue.. 1.2 litre petrol engine which produces 81.8 Bhp and 113Nm of torque which is mated to 5 speed manual gear box and gives a mileage of 21 kmpl and has 339 litres of boot space. since this is the higher mid trim variant it has some modern features more comparitively.

Analysis -

  • on comparing all the four cars maruti and tata have the least maintanance compared to the kia and hyundai. while baleno has even more less as it is equipped with the petrol engine .
  • since the person does a daily commute mileage is the main concern , of all th efour models sonet leads with highest mileage in the segment of 24.1kmpl. which is very suitable for daily traffic commute and highway aswell
  • safety is the main aspect as the person travels a long distance with his family members on highway. of all the four models TATA Nexon has 4.8 rating which is the highest in the segment then comes the venue and sonet with 4 and 4.5. baleno has the least safety rating of 3.2
  • engine output is also the key feature in driving on both city and highway being all the 5 seats occupied hence sonet has the better engine output comparitively as it is equipped with turbocharged diesel engine which is more efficient also than the other cars.
  • passenger comfort is the aspect where no one compromises .. hence nexon and sonet has better leg room and head room which is more comfortable for the average passengers .
  • overall all the cars have ABS -antilock braking system , air bags , infotainment system, cabin ventilation as common.
  • Conclusion - on comparing all the four cars which are the best selling in the price range and segment and fulfilling the persons requirements .. keeping all the safety features, mileage , capacity , engine output , passenger comfort , maintanance and overall built quality etc.. into account KIA SONET HTE 1.5 is the best in class car for Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii meeting all his requirements. it also satisfies his like towards SUVs .
