Assignment 4-RADIOSS Material Laws Challenge

Aim:Simulate the component under different conditions and material cards. Observe the changes.

Procedure:

1)Firstly, use the Law2 card which describe about elasto-plastic material. This card has many parameters, one of them is IXFEM, (this parameter talks abput the element deletion or crack propagation after the breaking)

2) If IXFEM is 0 then deletion of elements occur, and crack propogation can be observed by providing IXFEM=1

3)Secondly, change the material card to elastic material (LAW 1), which needs only young's modulus, density and possions ratio. This card is better for the materials doesnt undergo plasticity.

4)Law 36 is used to observe the plasticity behaviour of the materials, i.e elasto-plastic materials.

5) For brittle type of materials LAW27 is used.

Results:

The above images represent the contour plots with von mises stress (MPa) and internal energy plots of LAW2 materials with (IXFEM=0) , (IXFEM=1), LAW1 and LAW27 from top left respectively.
